What’s better than canon? Fandom. Every time, without a doubt, fandom > canon. In honor of the NCIS fandom and it’s breadth of amazing creators we have here in our little corner of the internet (as well as a tiny bit of sticking it to the pieces of canon that could’ve done way better), let’s celebrate us!
Whether you write fics, make gifs, create moodboards, edit videos, draw fan art, or come up with the best comments & reblogs, whatever your thing is- come do it with the entire NCIS fandom! The themes for each day will be listed below with three alternates if you don’t have inspiration for a particular day. Each piece of content will be reblogged here so please tag with #ncisfandomweek and/or #infandomwetrustweek.
Feel free to create for any ship, any major or minor character, whoever you want in the NCISverse. We’re here to celebrate the content the show gave us to create such an explosive fandom along the way 💥😉

Concert Date: 17.08 Musical Chairs / 18.01 Sturgeon Season
A scene so nice we got it twice. On a completely abstract level, I love this scene. Jack and Gibbs look wonderful, beautiful, dashing, handsome, gorgeous, adorable, pick any or all of the above. Is this actually my favourite scene? No probably not. It's my favourite insofar as every scene with the two of them is my favourite. Despite the scene kinda being the harbinger of all the time-hopping nonsense in 18, I do very much like it at its face value. I mean, a fancy sort of date? Great footage to fuel the dreams of my little shipper heart.
Day one: Favorite line/scene - 05x08 Designated Target, Tiva
Word count: 662
Also FF and AO3
You’ll never get it.
The words had been at the forefront of his mind ever since she had uttered them with certainty and a hint of disappointment.
Tony glanced up from his report. It was getting late and the bullpen had mostly emptied, Gibbs and McGee were tying up loose ends in the lab, Ziva was reading over her report. Studying her face he was reminded of how deeply affected she had seemed earlier, when Sayda found out Thomas had thought she was dead and moved on.
Ziva had never struck him as the type to believe in soulmates and fairy tales, yet she had been in an odd mood ever since her meeting with Sayda, desperate, almost, for a happy ending.
Love never works that way. Nevertheless, he wished he hadn’t given her that look right after the happy ending she had longed for was torn to pieces.
Chewing on his bottom lip, he went back to his report. One more paragraph to check, the old John Hancock, and he was free for the night. Free to go home. Alone.
Nothing sticks to you.
He clenched his jaw, signed the report, and closed the folder. While he had mostly gotten over Jeanne, accepting they never would have worked to begin with, the old feelings he harbored for Ziva were increasingly more difficult to ignore. Having her think he was incapable of being in a committed relationship bothered him more than he cared to admit.
Heaving a sigh, he shut down his computer, and glanced in her direction, only to find her staring at him.
She tilted her head slightly. “What?”
“I’m hungry,” he replied, some of the testiness he had felt the past few days seeping into the words.
“You are always hungry,” she said matter-of-factly, and returned her attention to her file.
He stared for another moment, wondering. Life was full of what-ifs. But what if the few failed dates he had been on since his break-up, and Ziva’s less than subtle fishing were a sign. What if the risk of losing your soulmate due to extreme circumstances, like Sayda and Thomas, was worth it in the end. Sayda certainly seemed to have thought so.
You don’t waste good, after all. And while he and Ziva had the potential to go terribly wrong if they didn’t work on certain aspects of their relationship, their potential for an actual happy ending was too great to ignore.
He grabbed the file and walked over to Gibbs’ desk. Another glance in Ziva’s direction, before placing the file in the middle of the desk, and casually asking, “You wanna have dinner?”
Ziva didn’t bother to look up. “No.”
He narrowed his eyes. “You have to eat, my treat.”
She signed her report, and looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
Tony shrugged. “A peace offering for being so crabby with you lately.”
Ziva pinched the bridge of her nose, then shut down her computer. “Thank you, but I just want to go home.” She got up and placed her report on top of Tony’s, before gathering her things.
Tony walked up to her, and sat on the edge of her desk. “Come on, Ziva, you can tell me more about your thoughts on soulmates.”
Her head snapped up. “Are you making fun of me?”
His eyes went wide. “No, I…” He shook his head. “This isn’t easy for me, Ziva.”
She narrowed her eyes.
“Look,” he started, trying to organize his thoughts. While he wanted her to know they were on the same wavelength, or so he hoped, he wasn’t quite ready to be completely frank and risk everything, either. “Some things are worth…investigating.” He fidgeted with his tie. “It would be a shame to look back on a missed opportunity for something good.”
“Rule five,” she said softly, eyes questioning, as she took a step closer.
His heart skipped a beat and he couldn’t contain his smile. “Rule five,” he repeated with confidence.
“My husband Nick and I, we could get behind the scenes, make it a real hands-on story.”
The time “undercover” in the food truck isn’t tense but busy, not that he would call it undercover. Nick catches himself staring, still in awe over her choice of cover. She returns some sheepish smiles, and he can tell that she’s somewhat worried about what she called him. Not that he minds, he’d love to hear those words out of her mouth more. But for her, everything is a calculation. For words to escape her like that, she must have done quite a bit of thinking first.
He told her once that things move fast undercover, and you do things because they feel right in the moment. He does want it to feel right, and it does. It is the most right thing he’s ever felt.
When they finally make it back to the car, she tries to turn on the radio as a distraction, to not talk about it. He immediately reaches over to push it off and turns to face her as she pulls away from the curb.
“Mrs. Eleanor Bishop, did you just out us to a stranger by pretending to be married undercover?” he teases.
“I panicked, okay?!”
“Hmmm. Really,” he says and it’s more of a statement than a question. He knows her well enough to know that she didn’t panic. “You can’t keep it in anymore, can you?”
“It really just slipped out.”
“Mmmhmm. I still don’t understand why we can’t just tell people,” he says, and she finally glances over to look at him.
“Rule 12.”
“Yeah, that’s bullshit. We all know that Gibbs broke that one himself.” He sees her roll her eyes while she’s looking at the road.
“Yeah, but Jack’s gone now, and we’ve already been married for six months! And no one figured out we were together the whole year!” She exclaims exasperatedly. “What are we gonna do? Show up wearing rings and walk in to work hand in hand one morning?”
“Why not?” he challenges with a teasing lilt.
“Because everyone will be mad at us!”
“Who cares?” he shrugs. “I love you, and I so want people to know you’re mine.”
“I know, she sighs. “It was nice actually getting to say it out loud,” she finally admits with a small smile.
“Babe, it’s up to you. Whenever you want to tell everyone, however you want to tell them. We can go back to the “dating” stage if you want, get engaged, have a real wedding.”
“I don’t know…I really liked that our wedding was just us. That’s the way I would have wanted it anyway.”
“So why are you worried about it?” She adjusts her grip on the steering wheel. “I know. It’s not me, you really are worried about the work fallout. I get it, but we have to tell them eventually.”
“I know.” She sighs yet again. “But you have to admit it’s fun that we work with a bunch of trained investigators and no one has figured it out yet.”
“It is funny. I’m still shocked Gibbs hasn’t called us on it.”
“Right? Either that or he knows and just isn’t telling us,” she says. He chuckles at the thoughts. He wouldn’t put it past Gibbs. “Anyway, soon. I’ll know when I’m ready.”
“All up to you babe. All up to you. When you are ready, we’ll tell the world.”
