My oldest daughter will be twelve in about 6 weeks and she has started talking to me about her ships and shipping in her shoes and showing me edits and fan art and I have never been so excited to go on this journey.

Growing up my parents made fun of me (and still do like if we watch a movie and I cry really hard or something… I’m AuDHD and very soft, my daughter is the same) so the fact she’s comfy coming up to me and saying “mama this is my ship on Cobra Kai we call it Lawrusso” and she has several others… and I can just vibe with that. Never watched the show but yes, bestie, tell me your unhinged headcanons and moments you think they should’ve kissed…

I’m so lucky to have my kids. They’re so cool.

For those of you who follow me regularly, yes this is the Capaldi super fan- no she doesn’t ship Whouffaldi. Doesn’t think Clara is worthy of him… lmao

(For the record I love both my kids so much and equally but the younger one is too young for all this- tho she does love her some 15th Doctor I will not lie to yall…)

Husband told me I should share this on tumblr, and a couple of you already got the story but here goes.

Every first Wednesday of the month, my state and some others do tornado siren drills to make sure they have not been knocked out by weather or other things. Normally my son, who is 2 sleeps through them as they normally take place during his nap. Well, do to the time change the sirens came on later than normal and he was awake for it this time.

So you know how when a hard boss in any game shows up alarms blare, music goes up tempo, or the scene shakes or vibrates? Well, my son has been watching his dad play LOTS of video games and he likes to listen to them when he plays with his blocks and foam swords. Today,since he was awake from his nap, my son was sitting on my lap when the tornado siren for the month started going off. He jumped off my lap, ran to get his (empty) super soaker, grabbed it and started running around looking for the Boss Monster. He was peaking out the windows and standing in front of me protectively and making a bunch of noise. Looking for a dragon that would never come.

I'm probably taking a long shot here, but are there any families with young kids (6-11) that would be interested in forming a dnd party? My 7 yo loves it and is going crazy during this quarantine, I'd love to be able to help her make some friends and get some of the sillies out. I found a website with a bunch of free adventures for kids, and I'd be more than happy to dm on discord (unless one of the other parents has more experience, I've only played a few times and never dm'ed before except for one small made up on the spot adventure for my daughter and my sister). I just spent fifteen minutes describing LazyTown to my parents:

“So like the whole thing was invented by this Icelandic champion gymnast and I don’t know what makes a guy think “I’m going to create a TV show starring myself as a superhero elf” but apparently it worked for him.” 

“No but the weird thing is he’s actually like really good looking out of the makeup??” *google image search for Stefan Karl* “WHOA.” (Dad described him as ‘a cross between Daniel Craig and Antonio Banderas’.)

“His name is SPORTACUS?” “YES.”

“Wait, so that’s the villain?” “No, this is the other guy. THIS is the villain. ...This show has a very large female fanbase.” “You don’t say.”

“We would have let you guys watch that.” “And you guys would HAVE watched that.”
