BROKEN PROMISE.

nero sparda x fem!reader. wc: 835. ANGST. hurt no comfort, pre-dmc4, you die girlypop rest in pieces, a lot of mentions of blood and other disturbing things that can be triggering to some people, i have no idea why i wrote it but i decided to hurt everyone and me included, uhmm you've been warned so dont go after me please and thank you.

Another day, another jobs.

It has been like that for God knows how long for Nero— he wakes up, gets as many jobs as he humanly can tolerate by the order, gets scolded by other holy knights, then gets home to doze off.

But what made him love his life was the person he slept next to every day, and the one he saw in the middle of jobs.

You.

You were the only one who understood him, the one who he trusted with his life, the one who could see through his brash, abrasive personality and actually like him for who he was.

But not anymore. No more comforting, no more silent understanding, no more cuddling him while he cries until his eyes are dry and itchy.

Because he’s now looking at your lifeless body, lying on the ground and swimming in your own pool of blood.

Only if he had reached here faster, he could’ve saved you from this painful death. Your dress was torn from the demon’s claws and stabbed all over your body— the body that shielded him when everything was too much, when the world demanded everything without any mercy, when he discovered he wasn’t a human, but a monster.

You quietened his mind that day, cradling his face and kissing his forehead before your hand traveled down to hold his right arm and tell him everything was okay, and that you loved him no matter what.

But everything is now gone. You are gone.

The necklace he gifted you on your birthday was torn next to your body, likely because the demon pulled it when you were trying to defend yourself.

Nero just… stood there. Staring at your body and your still wide-open eyes from the horrific things the demons did to you before your death.

The order of the sword failed you— he failed you. He couldn’t save Kyrie’s and Credo’s parents; the order couldn’t save them and you.

His hands clenched and unclenched; tears were holding themselves to not fall. Even though the scene was surrounded by holy knights and citizens, to him, everything was quiet— too quiet.

The one who put colors in his life, the one who was able to distract him from the reality he lives in and made him smile until his cheekbones started to hurt, is now gone, and the colors faded; the reality hit him too hard, and his cheekbones are now pain-free.

No more late-at-night walks, no more homecooked meals at work, no more cuddling while listening to music.

Just… no more of anything.

He slowly lowered himself, sitting on his knees next to you. His hand went to hold yours— but it was cold when it shouldn’t be this cold. Your hand was calloused and covered in blood— your own blood. It doesn’t suit you; your hands were always soft and warm and always succeeded in making him calm down when you massaged his scalp. Meanwhile, Nero was used to seeing blood in his hands and how they were always calloused. You shouldn’t be looking like that. You shouldn’t leave him.

Nero can't handle it. He tried to collect himself and not to break down in front of everyone because you hate when he cries; you used to always tell him that red eyes didn’t suit him, but eyes full of love and sparkles and squinted because of smiling too hard did. Yet, you didn’t make him stop when he does cry; you didn’t tell him that he’s a man and men don’t cry. You just held him between your arms, brushing his hair back and kissing his forehead while telling him you’ll always be here for him.

Except now you’re not with him anymore.

So, Nero broke down. He held your body and hugged it as tight as he could while he wailed. He kept telling himself that it's just a dream and he’ll wake up next to you the next morning.

But unfortunately, it's not a dream.

So, he kept crying and yelling your name while bringing your body closer and closer to him, as if he’s trying to merge your bodies so he doesn’t have to leave you. So, you don’t leave him.

The other holy knights tried to move him away; to let him leave the scene so they could clean up everything. But even though they despise him, they felt pity towards him. Seeing him this devastated after years of being closed off and being rude to everyone with him really did something to him.

But at the end of the day, Nero had to leave you.

He attended your funeral and broke down in front of your grave again. He still couldn’t believe you were actually gone. You left him and broke your promise that you’d always be with him.

He’ll never be the same after your death. And certainly, he’ll never find someone as loving as you were.

He promised to love you forever, and he didn’t break his promise, unlike you.

LAZY DAY.

nero sparda x gn!reader. wc: 734. tooth rotting fluff because my boy deserves the best, 4nero AND holy knight nero with a devil bringer. i know he stopped serving after getting his demonic arm but balalala idc, he gets called pretty boy because he is, he's full of toxic masculinity and reader is here to fix it, some kissing and him being so sappy but its ok because its nero.

i really hate this fic but idc atp. nero's tag is so empty and it needs to be filled.

Lazy days like this mean the world to both of you. You were lying in bed together; Nero’s devil bringer is resting on top of you, and his head is on top of your shoulder so he can hear your soothing heartbeats.

Nero is always clingy after missions— especially the ones that make him stay away for days. Oh, how much he hates being a holy knight. And you're not complaining either; you love this version of him, all touchy and lovey.

Your hand is tracing his demonic arm —and ever since he showed you his arm. You've been so fascinated and obsessed with it. —.  You're really glad that Nero trusts you enough to be this vulnerable around you— he even told you about his secret of being a demon! Your other hand went up to play with his hair, letting a purr escape from his mouth.

"So good f'me…" he groaned, moving his head to lie fully on top of your chest and nuzzling deeper, tightening his arms around.

You let out a breathy giggle, bringing the other hand that was previously playing with his arm to his head to push his hair back from his forehead. You leaned in to place a kiss on his forehead, causing him to close his eyes to live in the moment.

Nero was about to drift to sleep, already being in cloud nine from the love you were pampering him with. His grip around you was loosening a bit to fall asleep, until finally—

"You're pretty." You muttered after a while, caressing his face and jaw. His eyes opened wide; his ears turned pink. He did not expect it, nor would he admit he liked it and blushed.

"Pretty?" he propped himself up with his elbow, looking at you as if you insulted him— and you’d really believe it if you hadn’t noticed the tint appearing on his cheeks. "I'm a man. I can't be 'pretty'."

"Yeah, ok. Whatever, pretty boy." You were trying so hard to muffle your laughter, but the look on his pretty face was one of a kind. Yet Nero couldn’t help but laugh with you. And being the little shit he is, he slid one hand under your shirt to tickle you.

Your apartment fell into silence after laughter was the only thing heard in it; the only thing that's heard now is the sound of your heavy breathing and occasional quiet giggles.

Nero looked at you— really looked. As if he was studying your face and how you look beneath him to carve into his brain forever. It was impossible to hold eye contact with him due to how deeply he was glaring at you.

Slowly, his fingers went to your chin, tilting your head to meet his eyes despite trying so hard to still look annoyed at you for calling him pretty; your figure lying under him with half of your stomach exposed and giggles escaping your mouth never fails to make him melt and fall in love all over you again.

Nero had enough. He leaned in, brushing his lips against yours before capturing them in a kiss that speaks more than words.

He was never good with words; his foul mouth makes him seem harsh and look like he doesn't like anybody— and it's kind of true, but it doesn't apply to you at all. So, he prefers to pour all of his love at you through actions and kisses.

And you completely understand everything he's trying to tell you. You understand his kisses that try to tell you that he adores you; you understand his actions that tell you he trusts you. A lot. Which never fails to make butterflies grow in your stomach.

You cupped his cheeks to deepen the kiss even more to tell him you love him too in his language. Nero's now completely on top of you, trapping your head between his arms and your lower body between his legs, yet he's careful to not crush you with his weight.

You finally pulled away from each other to breathe. Nero leaned in again to rest his forehead on top of yours, panting heavily before a silly grin appeared on his face.

"Oh my god—  stop looking this cute!" you immediately squealed, wrapping your arms around his neck and your legs around his middle to drop him completely on you in excitement.

"Oh, c'mon!"

I don't think if I'm going to post about them though, and only one person really knows about their existence lol (mwah love ya jane). ࣪ ִֶָ☾. most of my favorite games are games that i used to play when i was a kid like dmc and resident evil and more. ࣪ ִֶָ☾. i read books too!! I appreciate them all so I don't have a favorite book lol. ࣪ ִֶָ☾. I'm so disgustingly into politics. if I didn't pick my IT major, I would've studied politics. yet that doesn't mean I don't like my IT major!!
