Vergil the type of guy to watch you sleep for a few minutes every morning, admiring the features of your face while you rest before getting his day started

Vergil the type of guy to correct your order in a resturant if any mistakes were made and you were too shy/nervous to say anything

Vergil the type of guy to rub his thumb across your skin whenever you hold hands

Vergil the type of guy to show up at your front door the second the time ticks over to the time you had planned.

Vergil the type of guy to always make sure the vases in your home are filled with fresh flowers

Vergil the type of guy to pay close attention to almost everything you do and say, remembering the smallest details and even unintentionally mimicking your small habits. (how you hold a pen, the way you nod when speaking to people, tone of words, etc)

Vergil the type of guy to have the most flattering and gratifying compliments up his sleeve but delivers them in a contradictory or flat tone, giving you a bit of whiplash in a very loving way

Vergil the type of guy to save all displays of affection for just the both of you, unless anyone tries to make a pass at you, to which he stands ominously behind you with an arm around your waist

Vergil the type of guy to watch you get ready for anything while leaning against the doorway, just watching you

Vergil the type of guy to kiss the crown of your head habitually whenever he leaves your side to do something else

Vergil the type of guy to enjoy, even prefer, spending time with you in near silence while you both do your own thing, enjoying the comfortable domesticity rather than unnecessary chatter

this doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy you talking though, Vergil could listen to you talk about something you were interested about for hours, taking in all the words you say and asking thoughtful questions about the topic/s.

as mentioned beforehand, he remembers everything you say to bring up in later conversations.

Here is a reminder that in DMC canon, enough portals and spontaneous passages exist for any low-level demon (who are still above most humans) to pass through if they truly want to leave the demon world. So no one was stuck over there aside from the uber powerful demons.

Dante escapes hell after dmc2 through these portals for example. Likes of Cid, Modeus, Baul etc leave hell that way too. Yes, the portals were rare but they do exist nonetheless.

Sparda never held a grudge or hated his kind. He left the gates tact for that reason. This is an insane emotional feat for the guy who couldn't even feel humanity or humane emotions before this.

We can accuse Sparda of naivety and overgenerosity. However we can never call him cruel or unfair. He did for the demons more than they deserved.

Fun demon biology ideas

Dante & Vergil's birth being a case of ovoviviparity (the "egg hatches inside the mother" thing that some sharks do) because of the weird combination of human & demon biology

Twins (or triplets, etc.) being normal for demon biology because it's expected that one gets stronger by eating the others in the womb. Having more than one kid surviving the clutch is unheard of because of this

Dante & Vergil being born looking like ugly fetus versions of their devil triggers and being able to stand up & move at birth. They lose the scales with age until they look more and more human (baby demons born with their armor are likely to survive the Underworld, assuming that demons aren't usually around to parent their child)

Half-demon gestational period being longer than a normal human because of the extra-strength bone & muscle development

Eva definitely being a witch/Sparda did some sort of protection thing because having two demon children take up extra vitamins & minerals from her body is INSANE (one half-demon kid would probably kill a regular human)

Sparda being genuinely surprised that regular human babies come out as defenseless, blind, wet blobs of flesh

Sparda being less focused on the name & gender of the kids and more interested in which kid survives the gestational period

Sparda's idea of courtship is showing strength & the ability to provide like a Bowerbird or...you know...however a species who's existence is based on carnage & "kill or be killed" survival is based on (his love language is combat & flexin' for the hoes)
