Man… I am so disappointed.
A while back I said to my parents “School isn’t even that hard if you do the right things 🤓”.
I severely regret saying that. Why’d I have to lie so hard without even knowing???

You literally cannot explain to neurotypical people what a fucking trip anxiety disorders are, they're all "oh booooo hoooo I get nervous before presentations at work it must be anxiety" like. Look Karen. I was in the middle of a dissociative panic attack today and was like ???? And then I realized the background music at work had been off for ten minutes and I hadn't noticed actively but my anxiety perceived the change in environment as a fucking. Defcon 5 threat okay. Dont tell me all I need is 64 ounces of water and yoga.
I was diagnosed with autism as an adult, long after I was independent from my parents, and my parents don't accept the diagnosis.
I was talking to my them about how sometimes, finding a label for yourself can be very empowering and validating. I gave my autism diagnosis as an example.
My mother got very annoyed with me. She told me "you've always been so creative! And empathetic! Autism means not being creative or empathetic at all!"
I mean, what a thing to say. I know so many autistic people who are very much creative and empathetic.
It's true that sometimes empathy and creativity work differently for us, and some autistic people's strengths are not creativity, the same way some non-autistic people aren't inclined towards creativity.
Roleplaying, programming, research and art communities come to mind as being rich in talented and creative autistic people.
In today’s neurotypical bullshit, a straight, white, ablebodied man is telling me that (*checks notes*)... oh yeah, autistic people shouldn’t be accommodated by society because it’s too expensive, and that it should be our job to change. That gets a ten out of ten for completely missing the point of what I was talking about when explaining the social theory of disability! Congratulations! You missed the point!
I wrote before about how being autistic can put you at odds with a job in medical research publishing.
Now I'm working in medical education, and once again I'm finding myself (metaphorically) shouting at medical professionals.
The authors of the educational manuscript gave 4 examples of patients:
4-year-old boy
11-year-old boy
Newborn baby boy
10-year-old autistic child
So they called all their patients "boy", except the autistic kid, who is just "child".
Alarm bells were already ringing, but then the authors said a particular surgery was indicated in the case of the autistic child because "he may lack the ability to look after himself independently".
Sorry to repeat myself incessantly here, but you can make no presumptions about somebody's ability to perform daily tasks based on them being autistic.
I have advised we change the wording to "A 10-year-old autistic boy who relies on his parents to clean and dress him". I'm hoping my supervisor will agree with me here.
I didn't tell my new colleagues that I'm autistic, but I feel there's many small tics that could potentially give me away. If my supervisor doesn't want to let me change the wording, I may have to tell them that I'm also autistic, and I'd prefer to avoid that until they know me well.
I HATE trying to explain where I am when I'm not doing well.
No one LISTENS. They ask me to explain, and then condescend to me, and then act like they don't understand why I'm upset.
BECAUSE YOU'RE DOING 0% LISTENING.
You know what’s a stupid, neurotypical societal convention? Saying bless you every time someone sneezes. I canNOT remember to do it I’m used to tuning people and their movements out so every time someone sneezes I don’t register it and then I’m rude for not blessing them 😭
I can't come off anon because you are a psychopath who wanted to get journalists to stalk amd harass J and S to ruin her divorce settlement and to break their relationship up for no other reason than your fantasies not coming true. Until you haven't dealt with your mental health issues I won't get myself involved with you because you are unhinged and maybe even a danger to yourself and others if you are anything like that in real life. It's not cowardice you are just too lunatic to deal with.
no its cowardice :)
