Most people with traditional lifespans think being immortal is more of a curse or a burden than a gift. Of course many immortals have been quoted saying similar things. Most of us disagree, as time passes technology develops and there is always a new adventure to be had, a new love to fall into, or a new language to learn all the new century slang in. If new things aren’t for you, there is always historians and dramatics who will accept your “old timey” (as they put it) quirks. As long as you have the will to live, you keep living! In this book, we’ll discuss all the ins and outs of a successful limitless life.
For new immortals - Welcome! This book will be a great reference for you getting settled into your eternal life. In this chapter we will cover all the exciting possibilities and clauses of immortality.
Of course, you will always have some close friends and relations who you will inevitably watch pass on. This chapter goes over how to accept that, though they are very similar to us, they are different and we can easily learn to move on. Much like a child who’s housecat was hit by a car, we will keep living and meet new people after our loved ones pass. This is a very important skill to learn early on in your immortal life or you may find you quickly lose interest in all other facets of immortality.
Ch2 - The “Spark of Life”
This is, in fact, a limited lifespan’s concept that we have imposed on ourselves. You do not need to constantly be doing some new passion project. Take a century off here and there, open a bar in the middle of nowhere, talk to people in passing but don’t worry about getting to know them. You can always get back out there sparking some life in the next millennia! For us, we may simply enjoy the world without needing constant stimulation. Another of the many benefits of immortality!
Ok we may have just said you don’t constantly need do be passionate about life, don’t let one activity define you or you’ll end up stagnant and bored. Boredom is the reason we are so few nowadays, so it is best to avoid that! Once you have mastered one, it’s best to move on to the next before you feel the depression of having no possibility of improvement. In this chapter we’ll go over many things to try and ways to find a new hobby once you master the previous one.
Ch4 - Meeting Other Immortals
As our numbers dwindle, it becomes easier and easier to arrange full group meetups! We typically host these once every 276 years, for obvious reasons. Meetups will be at a predetermined date and location listed in this chapter. It is strongly discouraged to intentionally meet another immortal outside of these group meetings.
Ch5 - Putting it all Together
So now that you have the basics, we can go over how to put them all together to live an ever long and ever happy life! There is an infinite number of ways to love a life that is infinitely long! This chapter contains many wise words to follow if ever you feel you may want to give up your immortality. Remember, this isn’t just an old necklace you can pawn off for no reason! Some of the co-authors of this book have been immortal since the Beginning, so it is always wise to seek advice (through your copy of this book, do not contact us directly) before making rash decisions!
In an emergency situation, you may request a wipe of your memory to allow you to start your immortal life all over again! Do be warned, this has a use limit and will degrade your mind at an exponential rate. Of course this is much preferable to the alternative!
