Do you think you could write anything for Cam with a male reader who overworked himself? Similar to how Eddie does, reader is constantly running around the house trying to help all of the objects and ends up burning himself out. Cam notices and tries to get him to take a break but reader is so caught up on not disappointing anyone that he brushes Cam off with an "I'm fine."
I really love your writing a lot!! I'm so glad you're back but don't overwork yourself!!
Cuteee!! Yes!! I'll go ahead and do that. And thank you so much for the kind words!!!
Take a rest, trashcan orders.
// Male reader x Cam (Fluff)
(Freddy appears at the end!)
The exhaustion on your face could be clearly seen by anyone that had functioning working eyes. And even then, could probably still be heard in your voice.
Even since meeting you, Cam quickly noticed the way you never rest. It's like you have to have your brain occupied all the time, usually helping others, one of the reasons Cam was so wary at first because of your niceness.
He quickly realized however that you genuinely do it out of a desire to help, and not a way to feed your own ego. And once he noticed this every single good word kind of made him stupidly happy. He didn't want to be helped, and it would be dumb to not get that the way you spoke to him so freely was different from the way you talked to anyone else.
Cam fell in love, in a way that could be considered violent. Like he was falling from a building and waiting for the imminent splash of his body on the pavement.
Seeing you like this did bother him quite a bit. He tries to trick himself into saying it's fine. You're barely friends anyway, so you can do whatever you want. He wouldn't like being bothered (you could never be a bother to him, he thinks to himself) so he should keep quiet.
He sees the way you take the Dateviators off, carefully setting them down on the kitchen table as you grab your head and stay like that for an amount of time that is worrying. You began to move until--
A small can of an energetic drink hits you on the leg. You stay put for a bit and grab it, then softly put it back inside the garbage bin.
You go try to go to the living room but--
An exasperated sigh leaves your mouth, and you quickly place the dateviators on your face, pointing towards the trash can.
Cam appears, hands playing with his bag strings, as he looks at the sides, not being able to look you in the eyes.
"Woah, getting a bit of an attitude huh? starting to sound like me."
The man sighs, shoving his hands on the baggy pants and looking at you with his neutral serious expression.
"I'm saying you're burning yourself out. Take a rest or something."
- There's lots of stuff to be done around here, I can't just STOP doing things. It doesn't work that way.
"There have always been things to do. And You did them okay, this however is more than just doing things, isn't it?"
Your eyes pierce through Cam's. While his face shows no much emotion, just looking at his eyes you could see the glossiness in them. A small begging of please don't be too hard on yourself. You don't get it.
You begin to walk away, trying to just get out of the situation but Cam grabs your arm firmly.
"Hey! Are you gonna just ignore me? I'm talking to you!"
The way Cam, who usually does not raise his voice sounds now makes you a bit startled. He is not loud, but he's trying to get you to listen.
You go to take off the Dateviators, but Cam quickly wrestles you to the ground. You're not sure how he even got the strength, but once you're both on the floor he makes sure to pin both of your hands. You're sure that if you struggle enough, you'd be able to get out of his grip... but you're tired.
"No. Not letting you go. At least not until those things run out of battery or something."
Your hands move a bit, trying to test the man's strength. He keeps you in place properly, sat on top of you.
You feel the hands quickly leaving your wrists, as if they suddenly were made of scorching metal. He slides off your body like it was made of jelly.
You're able to sit down now, pressing your back against the cabinet near. You take a small look at Cam.
He's beet red. You can tell by the way his shoulders and ears are flushed, despite him looking away trying for you not to notice.
"Ugh. Whatever. If you want to work until you die go ahead. Not like I care."
One of your hands finds his shoulder and he stiffens.
- Can you look at me Cam?
He does not reply, or move.
The tone sends a small shiver down his spine. Fuck. He curses his weakness.
He turns around slowly. Looking at you with a frowning face. He IS bright red.
When suddenly your hand cups his cheek his demeanor shifts into one of full panic, and if you didn't think it was possible he turns even more red.
"W-wait, wait, what are you-"
He was expecting a kiss, but instead you pressed his forehead against yours. His eyes shift, just looking at your face and features. Your own closed, you're not able to see the worry on his expression. The slight red coating on his flesh is still there, but with less intensity.
Both of your breathings synchronize.
He really wants to just kiss you. He just can't muster up the courage.
Your eyes open and you're able to see an extremely pensive Cam. You find it adorable. You really want to kiss him, but you can't muster up the courage.
You both stay like this for a while. Eyes closed, until you hear the small beeping of the Dateviators running out of charge.
When you pull away, you can feel him unconsciously trying to follow your touch. He doesn't even realize, and you won't tell him that.
- Goodbye Cam. See you tomorrow.
Cam is losing it once you leave. He curls up in a small ball on the floor just groaning and sighing, grabbing at his bag strings and pulling. He hates it. Why do you affect him so much? One person treats him like he should and now he feels like dedicating his life to you? He hates it a lot.
Freddy looks at Cam, trying to see if he needs any help.
Freddy sees Cam curling up even further. And tries to think of what to do.
"I got some food about to spoil... it's been there for too long. It seems running around has made him forget to take it out."
Cam doesn't respond for a long time. Freddy sighs, but as he's about to leave...
"Put it here. Next to me."
Freddy does as he mentioned, leaving some bitten pieces of unfinished food next to the Cam's body.
He leaves. Cam doesn't move from the spot for a while. But then just rests his body against the trashcan (In game logic) and grabs a piece of cake you've left unfinished.
He takes a bite, and then another.
Closest thing to a kiss, he supposes.
Tomorrow he will see you again.
And hopefully he's just a bit more brave this time.
