Ngl the more I hear the term "ladies and gentlemen" the more tired I grow of it. I'm not a lady nor a gentleman, I'm not included in this.
It's so casual and so common that non-binary people just. Aren't thought of. This extends beyond cis people and into the trans community- everyone is so obsessed with reinventing the gender binary.

I just read the most gutwrenching news that the Court of the Appeal has denied Ryan Castellucci their legal gender in the UK.
To say that I am sick to the absolute bottom of my stomach is an understatement.
As a fellow non-binary person this is an utter slap to the faces of anyone living under the assumption that the United Kingdom had even a scrap resembling justice or fairness left in the dregs of it's government.
The Lord Justice Ravinder Singh and the Gender Recognition Panel should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

With the direction the UK government is moving in, and the extreme swing to the right we're experiencing right now, it's difficult not to give up hope. But the absolute grit and determination that Ryan displayed in the face of the full brunt of government disregard and callousness is commendable.

NB folk hardly ever get any representation in media whatsoever, let alone having multiple characters -- including the protagonist -- in one video game canonly using they/them pronouns. Apparently, if you don’t have a certain type of brain, you can’t be trans/non-binary or whatever the fuck.
YES. I know that trans people have a different brain chemistry than cis folk. But non-binary people are widely understudied and until you are proven otherwise, STOP ERASING THEM. They aren’t transphobic and fall under the trans umbrella.
Also, if someone genuinely CAN’T FEEL COMFORTABLE MENTALLY WITH EITHER GENDER they are absolutely non-binary. That is a thing.

Claiming that “dysphoria has been diluted” is bull.
Saying non binaries are often “confused trans people sucked into MOGAI shit” is absolutely gross. That’s literally the same thing as saying Pan people are just confused bisexuals. Or that bisexuals are just confused. That’s literally bi/panphobic rhetoric with recycled wording. It’s gross.
Claiming that Uruguay’s new laws aren’t progressive was also rather,,, off. Because yes, while changing your name freely isn’t really the best (take it through legal stuff,) allowing trans folk to do as they please and identifying non binary people is absolutely a good step toward equality. But hey, you would have no government ever recognize people that are non binary and allow them to be discriminated against and attacked for not identifying a certain way, but go off I guess.

Some people seem to think that bi folks who experience attraction to both binaries and nb’s are erasing pansexuality.
In its most basic and most commonly defined form, pansexuality is the attraction to all genders (I know there are some different definitions, but this is the one I’ve seen most people use).
Non-binarism is a very wide spectrum. Sometimes it consists of one identity that falls neatly on a sliding scale between male and female.
Sometimes it’s its own sliding scale and the point moves.
Sometimes it’s a series of genders that coexist at the same time.
Sometimes it’s a lack of gender entirely.
Sometimes it’s a gender that exists in one culture but not another.
Sometimes it’s just really difficult to tell.
Bi folks who say they experience binary and non-binary attraction are valid and don’t have to identify as pan because non-binarism is such a huge umbrella. They don’t have to justify it if they believe that they’re not attracted to all genders within it, for example.
Bi folks whose definition of pansexuality doesn’t match their own identity are valid.
Bi folks who like the label bi over pan for any reason are valid.
Bi folks who experience attraction to three or more genders are valid.
Bi folks are valid.
