Masako doesn’t hate her father. Despite her mother trying to get her to.

Her father isn’t a good person. Masako knows that. He gets drunk and high and he screams and he fights, and he’s scared her before. But she doesn’t hate him. She can’t hate him. Not after everything she’s seen him do.

She’s seen that he would try not to fight in front of her.

She sees that he’s always excited about her accomplishments.

He was the one who gave Masako her special lighter.

She should hate her father. Her mother hates her father- so shouldn’t Masako hate him, too?

But she doesn’t.

Because flawed as he is, he tried to shield her from it. And her mother didn’t.

…MEET EMI!! Her girlfriend!

Explaining things about these two while I have you here,

They’re both the same species and also have more human looking forms. Emi is a snow rabbit and she only really has ears and tail as animal traits while Toka (since she is a lizard) has more of an anthro animal appearance.

Toka in her human form has vitiligo and she has freckles in both of her forms!!

Both come from rather wealthy families and met through having to attend events with said families, both are friends with the mc Juniper.

They’re childhood friends as well, and Emi is a bit protective of Toka.

what are your character's fears? >:))

ooh this is a fun one (sorry i forgot it existed so it’s even later now)

more than anything, elias is scared of being vulnerable. it’s unbecoming of a man to bare his soul to someone, to share his darkest thoughts, his deepest desires… and what scares him even more is the fact that he wants to. loud noises terrify him too — they bring up far too many memories he doesn’t want to think about. oh and tiled floors.

beck fears she’ll never get home to her family, that she’ll be stuck in this city that she hates and she’ll never get to see them again. she’s also afraid that she’ll be caught and locked away in some dark cell until the day she dies of something awful, and with good reason — she’s a criminal, after all, and the Watch don’t take kindly to criminals. even if they’re small, and so, so cold.

talya doesn’t fear much, being an officer of the Watch. she’s had that drilled out of her for years now. the only thing she’d consider a fear is… not being enough. she’s always been ambitious and high-achieving, and if she can’t be what people need her to be… she doesn’t know what she’ll do.

aspen is scared of most things. talking to people, crowds, small spaces, heights, confrontation… the only thing she isn’t afraid of is the strange and monstrous creatures she’s spent her life researching.

amelie isn’t necessarily afraid of anything, but she is concerned with how others perceive her. it’s important to her that she’s seen as the capable woman she is, rather than just some man’s wife.

jay’s afraid to age. he knows he’ll age like a fine wine, but he’s afraid he won’t be able to perform any more. that’s who he is — the guy who makes love to women all the time without fail. it would be a disaster if his dick gave up on him.
