I’m starting to build the world and story for my OCs, focusing first on Kero’s origins. I want their community to be tribe-based, mainly inspired by Inuit and Māori cultures since they match the social dynamics and attitudes I imagine.

Right now I’m experimenting with both separately, but my goal is to eventually blend elements of the two into something original ( and hopefully draw a comic later on ).

Quick sketch of The Lovers here before everything went crashing down. I am not exactly proud of the hands tho-.

Oh and Fun fact: The lovers role wasn't officially a thing until the pair decided on it and made the humans' problem until they got what they wanted. Also, this was an anonymous role.

Anyways, I think I am bad at presenting ocs in the right way I think. Y'see I remember making 2-3 posts saying Vivi doesn't grieve about the loss of his lover as a few hints. She stopped grieving long ago.

What I am trying to do here, is explore different types of 'love' outside of the usual romantic one. I got inspired by my teacher when she pointed out that we only understand love as lust and romance only. So, it became my base after I designed Vivi, because I want to prove her wrong.

Also, before we actually start, Vivian is a positive person in general. So, it this just me yapping. None, of you have to change your perspective of Vivian, but you can if you wish too. That said, I did not change Vivian's character, rather I am trying to understand him deeper. So, let's get started. And I also pointed out some of the main point above of what I wanted to say, if anyone doesn't want to read everything.

Love is an enigmatic force in my viewpoint and it can go many ways. I did wanted to do that Vivi does grieve for Prim. But, wouldn't that be common, and I have a problem for making most of my married/engaged/lovers ocs to grieve for their loved ones and I felt it would be monotonous to repeat my same pattern. So, no, he doesn't grieve for Prim no more. While the presentation of Vivian grieving is accurate, but I think I wasn't clear about the fact.

What Vivi expects is someone by his side. A sense of familiarity in which she was deprived of by being stuck down beneath the theater with Primrose. The only one familiar to him. When death was the finality for the lovers, it struck her very deeply. Grief is said to have five stages, he accepted Prim's death, now what he deals is with the loss.

I am gonna say, Vivian isn't lonely but she feels detached in a way, he's connected through everyone and is positive, however the gnawing thought for Vivian is that Vivian thinks he is a horrible person to feel empty and distance emotionally despite all acquaintances. He goal is to be a better self from this and maybe also able to help others. But I will also argue with Vivian that she thinks healing is easy. Because, this is only the start of Vivian trying his best and SHE hasn't really thought the full process of healing. Pretty much Vivian thinks it is easy if she has the will, while it is true, Vivian is somewhat a quitter (but she won't quit unless he thinks it is pointless) and with that delusion ability of his, pretty sure he didn't fully think through the troubles.

If anyone is familiar with schizoaffective disorder or any disorder in general, then I can say (do point out some things which are incorrect) safely that it can be managed with proper treatment. Frankly I don't think even if there are 'sane/stable' puppets, they aren't truly stable and don' think they have the remedies. Vivian is included here.

If any of you remember, Vivi can feel someone else's emotions and cause delusions. I would say, Vivian feels someone else is talking inside his head and the feelings may not be her own. Let me make this clear that I am not a professional, and this is purely my understanding- I don't think Vivian has 'mental disorders' in the general sense where it is extreme, but she has in the milder sense. After all, isolation and in general death did fucked him up. While it is true Vivian is delusional most of the time, but she's still attentive enough of actually form proper thoughts if given patience. Does Vivi hear voices? Yes, she does. Does Vivian have an issue with it? Yes, but Vivi doesn't know what to with it. It feels like a earraping occurance and Vivian is used to it by now, it is a bother but there isn't much she can do about it.

Vivian is not a completely reliable narrator. While he does his best to say the full thing, and does; I am gonna say, switch the whole focus to him and it may not be complete vision. It does happen to people in real life too, when they forget certain parts of an important memory, they will try to recreate or remember them, which changes the context a bit and someone else has to complete the full vision. Dunno who's gonna do that to complete Vivi's tho-

i’ve been writing some character study stuff with my oc marti and writing from his perspective vs third person is so fun to me bc the difference really tickles me

i’ll put a specific example and yap below the cut but the cut is there for a REASON because marti is a mentally unstable murderer and BIG CONTENT WARNING FOR BLOOD AND SELF-HARM OKAY. okay

so the thing about marti is that he’s a clone of marc bolan right, but he deeply resents marc bolan bc he knows that’s all he was supposed to be rather than his own person. and he hates that he resembles marc so if anyone ever points it out he’ll probably try to kill them.

so one time this woman lindsay made the mistake of pointing out how she loved marti’s curls (cuz ofc he hates them) and he started cutting all his hair off in front of her and fucking his scalp up. so here’s a bit from a transcript of a phone call recording of the event:
