From @oneoceanglobal ambassador @kennaaloha #Repost // Speaking up for those without a voice ❤️ The #SouthernResidentOrcas are starving to death, primarily because their primary source of food, the chinook salmon, are also at the risk of extinction. If @GovInslee of Washington State breached the 4 Snake River dams, both the chinook salmon AND the orcas would actually have a chance against EXTINCTION. The salmon could repopulate back to a sustainable number and the orcas could finally have enough food to survive and reproduce! ⠀ ⠀ PLEASE send Governor Inslee your letters! ✉️ 1 Handwritten letter = 2,000 votes! So writing to @GovInslee is extremely valuable! Please ask him to “Breach the Snake River dams in 2018 for both the chinook salmon and the southern resident orcas in the Salish Sea!” You can also call and send E-messages. Be a voice for the voiceless 🙌🏽⠀ ⠀ These animals play such an important role in the ocean. We’ve already messed with the planet’s natural balance enough! It’s time we actually become CARETAKERS of the planet instead! Again, we are all connected! 💙🌎⠀ ⠀ For more details on the southern resident orca situation, check out @pnwprotectors who has all the information you need, both on this crisis as well as the Governor’s contact info! You can also check out my previous post on this problem that I shared just a few posts back to learn more 🙏🏽 Save the Southern Residents! Breach the Dams!. . .
