since zexal month is finally here I decided to finally post Naomi's full lore and her reference sheets :)
Heyy so I'm Ornela, I've been into zexal since I was 9, the only reason I got into it was because of my stupid lovely little Astral, been loving this little guy for eight years straight (I love this man more than I love myself). My zexal oc is Naomi, who I ship with Astral, their ship name goes by bluepetalshipping. Here is her full lore:
Eons ago, when Eliphas created Astral with the purpose of destroying the Barian World, Enna strongly disagreed. She believed there had to be another way to achieve peace, one that didn’t involve the destruction of either world. She believed that the “Power of Chaos” was necessary too, because there can’t be only good or only bad, there has to be balance. Eliphas rejected her ideals and warned her not to interfere. But Enna refused to stand by. In secret, she began creating a being of her own, Naomi. Her purpose was to embody the balance between light and darkness, to protect Astral World, and to find a path to peace without annihilation. When Eliphas discovered Enna’s plan, he attempted to sabotage the process. Though he couldn’t stop Naomi’s creation entirely, his interference left a mark. Naomi was born with a heart defect. It made it dangerous for her to fight or duel. This weakness would carry over even in her second life as a human, where she was born with a congenital heart condition. In that life, her fingers are always bluish from poor circulation, in her Astral form, her hands and feet are black. Despite this, Enna loved Naomi dearly, like her own daughter. She raised her with great care. When Naomi first met Astral, something clicked between them. A powerful bond was formed, one that blossomed into love. But Eliphas disapproved. He believed Naomi was a distraction from Astral’s mission and even saw her as a threat. As other Astral beings began to accept and love Naomi, Eliphas grew furious. He forcibly separated her from Astral for a time, yet the two continued to meet in secret. They became true lovers.
When the war between the worlds began and Astral faced Don Thousand, Naomi mysteriously disappeared. Her soul was sealed away, traveling through dimensions for years. All this time, Astral never stopped searching for her. Her disappearance left him heartbroken. And when he was sent to Earth on his mission and lost his memories, he also forgot her. But a lingering pain remained, he just didn’t know why.
(NOTE: In this version of the story, Yuma and the others are aged up to 18 when Astral first arrives on Earth. I did this so Naomi could engage with the Yuma and the others, being in the same class as them too, but also because I wanted to keep her as an adult. Shipping Astral who is a million year old being with a minor would be weird.)
Naomi, meanwhile, had been reborn on Earth 18 years before. A few weeks after Astral’s arrival, she transferred to Heartland Academy. Like him, she had no memory of their past. The moment she walked into the classroom, she saw something no one else could, a glowing figure floating next to Yuma. Her eyes locked onto Astral. Her heart stirred with something deep and unexplainable. She was confused by this feeling. Astral, equally stunned that she could see him, stared back. He felt like he’d seen her before, but couldn’t understand why. After class, they had a private conversation. The more they spoke, the more drawn they became to each other. As Astral continued to recover more Number cards, he started remembering a girl from his past, and slowly, it became clear. Naomi was the one he’d been looking for all along.
They reunite and get together after the canon events of the show.
