the hauntings of Andrew Wyeth
goodest girl, full of anticipation for what might be next
The thing is Kim Soleum isn't this extremely remarkable person by chance or for plot convenience, I think. This is just the result of his years in the workforce. His curse is that he's an extremely competent employee who keeps getting dragged into miserable positions and jobs and his grief is his line of work it's a job that he hates and all he wants is to go home. But what do you do when even that "home" is no longer something that really exists.
Kim Soleum loses more and more of the home that he "belongs to" as the story progresses. First he loses the world that he belonged to, the original world with none of the terrifying ghosts, though plagued with many other horrors. He loses access to his family and friends whom he barely mentioned (did he even talk to them? Visited? It's all a mystery)
Then as he tries to cope and adapt to his new life as an employee, he's taken away, and returned, and now he's lost his place in that company, lost the place he's supposed to live in, and lost contact with some friends along the way.
Then as he struggles in this new, distorted form, concealing his humanity, part of him gets taken too.
Just like the wise woman, Dolly Parton once said, "it's all taking and no giving".
Ever since Kim Soleum stepped into the world of DER, he's given all he could, all that he had, and yet the universe kept taking and taking and taking from him with no mercy.
Now he's stuck doing a job he hates, with very little security blanket, no real accommodations, and most importantly, no real sense of self anymore. He's lost part of his humanity, parts of his consciousness, his will and power and agency...

It was late summer, and the intolerable heat of the daytime, though much less intensified during the night, was a lingering discomfort. The covers, light as they were, had been discarded on your side of the bed. Vil noticed that at some point during the night you had also disposed of your shirt, a light sheen of sweat glistening on your exposed back as you slept.
I don’t have any for myself, but to the consideration of people who have whump OCs that are actors
dehydration is a pain in the ass, and will make you miserable <3
they get a nosebleed right before they’re cued to enter, so they have to enter with toilet paper/a paper towel stuck up their nostril
they’ve been sitting around for a while, since their cue doesn’t come until halfway through the show, but when they stand up vertigo hits them like a truck
not being able to realize they’re shaking from more than adrenaline after a big dance number
their head pounding and reeling when they go onstage, but they still have to stay in character. the show must go on, right?
(they pass out as soon as they’re out from the backstage area <3)
(I think most of these also work for fevers. btw.)

I found this hiding in my old drafts (ugh, why did I not I finish it??? 😩) and thought somebody might enjoy it. Just a short little cheeky something.
Not really appropriate for minors, so you fuckers stay away.
