I may actually be starting to work on the Ego Dating Sim game this summer.

BUT before i start diving deep into the development of the game i want to make a quick 1 minute survey to you guys just to collect some info about what you guys would like to see in the game.

My Mind Is Flowing Once More With HC’s For A New Special Interest (In Space With Mark HC)

In one of the alternate realities, Old Mark ends up in the same timeline as Stan The Water Man and actually gets to be a funky lil granpy to a kid that oddly enough, reminds him of a friend, the Captain, back when he was out in space. The kid even takes an interest in space too. Stan knows what it's like to wake up out of a coma in a place you know little of, and he's just happy to take in Old Mark and have the extra help raising his little sport.

Old Mark's possible origin in ISWM

I think I figured out how Mark split with the Captain and ended up alone in the warp core in that old Mark ending. Remember, this is all just speculation.

Remember the scene where Mark and the Captain fall into the wormhole and there are many doors?

He tells you to try one of them and you don't exactly find the warp core, but the strange machine behind the creation of the wormhole is there and it places a crystal on your glove. That's when you gain the power to manipulate timelines.

...what if things happened differently in a specific timeline?

What if it wasn't YOU, the Captain, to get the crystal, but Mark instead and he managed to reach the warp core all by himself?

If that DID happen, then this particular Mark got the crystal.

He now has the power to travel through many timelines, is effectively immortal and omniscient about all the events involving The Invincible II and its crew. He can come back from death every time he's stuck in a "bad ending" and can also jump through timelines.

Don't forget we also got a weird scene where the ship looks dead and unmanned, and there are many papers glued to the wall warning against waking the Captain. Could they belong to Old Mark's timeline, since we never see that weird scene again?

Now, this is hypothesis number one. Old Mark is a Mark that aged naturally after getting the crystal, witnessed some terrible event - or events - caused by our meddling with time and has been trying to stop us all this time, just waiting for the Captain to reach the warp core so they may try to take our life.

The second hypothesis is that Old Mark actually survived the events of the first Invincible - which, Mark claims, look very familiar to what is happening to the Invincible II - and are now trying to stop the same thing from happening again.

Now comes a third hypothesis: the Lady blames the Captain for the countless deaths our actions caused. Old Mark also blames us for the destruction of the Universe.

But I can't help thinking: what if the culprit isn't the Captain - who's been trying to solve this mess in the first place -, but Mark?

Think about it.

Who incorporated that weird unknown device into the two Invincible ships?

Mark did.

Who sabotaged our ship and started the chain of events that ended in countless people dying, as the Lady accused us of?

(Old) Mark did.

Who wanted to jump in again and again into the wormhole carelessly, disregarding the possible consequences to the Universe of our actions of messing with the timelines until we reached the warp core?

Mark did.

Who effectively caused the destruction of the Universe while trying to stop it and caused its rebooting through his actions?

(Old) Mark did.

IMO, everything points to Mark being the real culprit here. His actions are the real cause behind the wormhole and the time loop. No wonder the device chose US to solve the paradox instead of him!

And if I were to take a wild guess here, I bet the only way to make the Universe become stable again will be to either make young and old Mark meet...or to create a timeline where Mark is absent...forever.

PS: Confirmed. The Lady looks at old Mark with a surprised look in the Old Mark ending and asks if the one responsible for the whole mess was him:

'You? You did this, it was you???'
