Bifid or Duplicated #mental nerve :: Very very rare : I say it’s duplicated coz the thickness hasn’t reduced. An incidental finding but had to make adjustments while doing osteotomies. Was also more difficult to free the nerve out, and so eventually made some changes with the Osteotomy plan to overcome. This is only the second time That I have ever encountered such a scenario with the mental nerve - in around 20 years after having seen thousands of mental nerves!! #today it was the raft of '93. Back 1993 this patient had pain on his impacted 3rd (#32) Molar that went away and came back in 2004. Once again the pain went away and came back this week. With General Anesthesia Sedation this patient was pleasantly sleeping while #32 along with #31 was extracted. Although a tooth is complete bony impacted there is still a change for decay to reach the tooth. 💡💡#oralsurgery #sedationdentistry #omfsurgery #tuesday
