Slow Cooker Caramelized Onions are a convenient and delicious way to prepare this classic topping. The slow cooking process allows the onions to caramelize to perfection, bringing out their natural sweetness and depth of flavor.
Ingredients: 4 large onions, thinly sliced. 2 tablespoons butter, melted. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/4 cup brown sugar.
Instructions: Sliced onions, melted butter, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and brown sugar should all be put in a slow cooker. Make sure to stir the onions well so that the seasoning mixture covers them all evenly. Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for 10 to 12 hours, stirring every now and then if you can. When onions turn a deep golden brown color and start to caramelize, they are ready to be served. Put it on sandwiches, burgers, or pizza right away, or put it in a container that won't let air in and put it in the fridge for up to a week.
