Vhy not speak up?
Isolation encompasses us all. It is an empty void, that sucks in all optimism and births out a distorted vision of the world. Mistrust and misapprehensions hang like fog in the air. Our expectations dwindle and shrivel up into a ball of basic necessities. With no one to confide into, we are left alone in our thoughts. These thoughts often swallow our conscience. Memes become a mode of communication. “Status” “Display pictures” become points of conversations.
And when we share our insignificant stories, stories of betrayal, stories of heartache, stories of success, stories of wantonness; we yearn to belong. We yearn to relate. We yearn to believe that we are not alone in our experiences, yet they are as unique as any we have had. People have tiny attention spans and hence, we try to not bother them. Meanwhile keeping thing inside becomes a ticking bomb.
Older people have criticized Millennials narcissistic referring to us as 'the me generation', we're the people who started this selfie craze, we're obsessed with ourselves. Okay, we like social media and so do you, grandma! Also Millennials have been called snowflakes, Gen Zs and Millennials have been criticized for being too sensitive, caring too much about being 'peacy' and using trigger warnings or wanting safe spaces available to people who need it; or the fact that a lot of us are more open about our mental health struggles and willing to go to therapy and talk about therapy than past generations have been. Yes, we love our phones and memes but we're also really caring and compassionate people and we care about this planet and we're thinking of things in a global context, thinking about everyone and I actually think that were not narcissistic were not selfish, we're not thinking about ourselves because if we were we wouldn't give a **** about climate change, these other social issues or anything we have been presented with this terrifying world, and instead of succumbing to hopelessness we're doing what we can to bite back; we're trying to change the world, we're trying to fix these problems.

Without an agenda
Got an invite to a baseball game Some old friends had an extra ticket I’m gonna go try acting like normal people act do things normal people do have fun without an agenda
This probably has already been said
But I’m not known for being original, so here it goes.
The fact that Jake Peralta is comfortable talking about males and appreciating them without fear is not only important because it implies that he is bisexual (that, in my opinion he is, but that’s another post) but is also important because it opens the possibility that men can appreciate other men and not be ashamed of it.
In general girls are allowed to comment on others girls bodies without fear, you could say that it’s even normal. But men are only allowed to talk about female bodies (and the more brute and rude the comment, the better).
So the fact that Jake is constantly dropping comments on how he sees and appreciates men’s bodies opens up a new world of opportunities. Men shouldn’t be ashamed of observing other men.
So from the comfort of my kitchen chair I personally wanna thank Jake Peralta for being such an amazing human being.
I am radiant, loving and kind.
