Familie. Mein Anker, mein ganzer Stolz, mein einziger Grund, warum ich morgens die Augen öffne und weiterkämpfe. Sie sind der Boden unter meinen Füßen und der Grund, warum ich niemals aufgebe. Ich habe Dinge für sie geopfert, die ich niemals zurückbekomme – Träume, Zeit, Teile von mir selbst. Und ich würde es wieder tun. Ohne zu zögern.

Aber das ist die grausame Wahrheit, über die niemand spricht: Die Hand, die dich hält, ist oft dieselbe, die dich an den tiefsten Abgrund führt.

Es ist dieser Moment, in dem du merkst, dass du am Rand stehst und nach unten blickst, während du versuchst, alle anderen festzuhalten. Ich kämpfe nicht nur darum, selbst nicht zu fallen. Ich kämpfe darum, dass sie nicht ertrinken. Ich halte ihre Köpfe über Wasser, ich ziehe sie an Land, ich bin ihr Sauerstoff.

Doch wer sieht mich?

Ich habe seit Monaten keine Luft mehr in den Lungen. Ich funktioniere nur noch aus reinem Instinkt, während mein eigenes Herz langsam schwer wird wie Blei. Es tut weh, die Rettungsweste für Menschen zu sein, die nicht merken, dass ich selbst schon längst untergegangen bin. Ein stiller Verlust, mitten im Kreis derer, die mir alles bedeuten.

You ever get cheated on and break up with your long term boyfriend and the man that promised to marry you once you were finished with your degree and then after switching schools you become best friends with this girl who’s just the younger version of you like an actual carbon copy of you and then you find out that she’s the girl your ex is dating but not the one he cheated on you with and she proceeds to ask you a bunch of questions about why you broke up cause before your were always like really respectful about what you said cause you may not be together anymore but that doesn’t give you the right to drag his name through the mud cause you also work togeather at and that would be awkward but then you and that girl compare timelines and the stuff he said and nothings adding up because apparently he said you slept together but NOBODY told you or your virgin body about that so your confused so she decides to call him and put him on speaker to figure this out and that’s how you find out he’s not only been spreading really nasty rumours about you but he was also planing on proposing to you the month after you got of legal age even though you explicitly told him to wait at least until your done college but that he already had the ring (which looked nothing like any of the pictures you had shown him of what your ring should look like) in a ring box on his bedside table SITTING RIGHT BESIDE HIM while he cheated but even given all that information that girl still decided to give him a second chance because he sounded really sincere about his apology even though you warned her that you fell for the same trick but despite that the two of you are still really good friends to the point where you even do things on the weekend that have nothing to do with studying for your finals even though you probably should but your not, your sharing food and sitting on each others lap and joking about how funny it would be if you both threw a party and invited him to it and then revealed that it was your engagement party and then just married each other even though your both baptised Christian’s?
