Currently working on a post about the lunar nodes from a traditional sorcery/witchcraft perspective. Ouroboric Congress. Draco Constellation. Svarbhanu and Vishnu. Ophidian, from the Greek word Ophis, means Serpent.

🐍It was essentially patriarchal or monotheistic culture which tended to demonise snakes, women & plants.

🐍The Ophidian sabbat tradition explores the use of serpent venom & poison in magical rituals.

🐍Women, especially in there demonised form as witches, were always keepers of magical plants and their botanical knowledge from agriculture to medicine.

🐍In Gnostic mythology the Serpent (Ophis) is the liberator.

🐍The Ophites/Ophidians, venerated the Serpent as a symbol of wisdom (in Greek, wise—> soph : wisdom—> Sophia, the primordial feminine).

🐍The Serpent is associated with hidden knowledge and cycles of creation and destruction and infinity ♾.

🐍Feminine associations embrace the snake as a power, particularly dangerous to the social order.

🐍The snake is a symbol for both healing and magical power ⚕️.
