Optician's sign, Sweden, late 1800's or early 1900's

The business the sign belonged to was Nordlöws Ur & Optik (Nordlöw's Clocks and Optics). Unfortunately, I don't have an exact date for this shop sign, other than that it's from somewhere around the turn of the century 1800-1900. The building itself was originally built in 1789 in the city of Härnösand and used throughout the 1800's and early 1900's. The building is today located in the open-air museum Murberget in Härnösand, Sweden.

Are some people in the maze just running around blind or at least partly so or have wckd just magically fixed all their vision.

Imagine if they sent all the supplies for making glasses and then they had a maze optician, who has written a bunch a letters on a piece of wood attached it to a tree and has gone person to person testing which is the lowest line they can see.

I like to think Thomas would have needed reading glasses, so when he was reading newts letter he’s moving it forward and backwards to try and make out the words.

Why do I have to pay for an eye test? We literally have free healthcare in this country it's not my fault I can't see.

A collection of home movies came in recently that had some great shop stickers on them. Obviously, these films were processed in Cleveland. The Dodd Company had a lot of irons in the fire: surveying instruments, drawing materials, Kodak supplies, and they were OPTICIANS!  [We’ve actually seen an optician+camera shop label before, on our 28mm home movies.]

The Dodd Company has been around since 1891! And it is still in business with  locations in Cleveland, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus.
