Tumblr and shitty school connection decided “no! You shant post about your LOTS ocs! And I said “frick you!” And did it anyways. Attempt 2. This is Melanie (Mel) and her patient Clown Nose. Mel is a cactus if it wasn’t clear.

Their relationship is very strained. Mel is always crossing boundaries and CN is just very angry at the world. CN is an evil genius who is constantly making evil plans (usually including classic clown gags) that always backfire. Due to her being a bad person, it usually takes quite a long time for anyone to recover her, so Mel gets a lot of time with her. She’s happy to have it even though CN forgets it every time. Mel is probably the only person CN can open up to. Mel honestly longs for the day that CN can finally die for good so they can be friends for good. However, when stretches between recovery become longer and longer, CN gets sadder and sadder and less comfortable with Mel, leading to the strain in their relationship.

PLEASE teach me your ways of making such beautiful object assets

USE REFERENCES. You might think you know what an object looks like but get a reference anyway. NO EXCEPTIONS

Pull up characters from whatever style you're trying to replicate that you think will have a similar shape to the object. (Helps with figuring out if certain edges should be rounded or not)

DESATURATE YOUR COLORS. There are certain exceptions to this most notably when a color is lighter if you want the color to be at all noticeable having it on saturated definitely helps; however with medium or Dark shades consider lowering the saturation a bit! Not everything has to be neon and you don't have to make it really desaturated either. Just drag it down by 10 or so.

if you have a white, gray, or black object try not to make them FULLY desaturated. You'd be surprised how many object shows have objects that have very slight hints of purple, green, etc (for example: silver spoon has tints of green, microphone has tints of purple, and marshmallow shading has tints of red!)

The symmetry tool & copy and paste for most objects will be your best friend since objects are usually very clean in their shapes" (ex: perfect rectangle, perfect circle, perfect triangle, patterns on both sides, ect.)

I'm talking like I have any idea what I'm talking about; I really don't. These are just some things that I've figured out VERY recently because of all the ship children I've been designing. I've got a lot to learn but it feels nice to share what I DO know with buddies. :)
