25. Which character surprised you when they were revealed to be the blackened?

Most surprised was Chiaki, for obvious reasons. That whole trial was a wild ride.

Another surprise was Kaede, because I loved her so much and I really hated losing her that early in the game TT^TT

How I feel about this character:

Ooooh I love him a lot. He’s my second favourite from the entire franchise for a reason. bet you can’t guess who my favourite is -

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character:

Kaito, obviously. I’ve gotten pickier about with Shuichi, though a lot of the art is fantastic and I love reblogging it - but as for Sai;ouma, I’m generally more on the ‘Saioumota’ side now. For the most part he tends to be in triangles, actually...

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character:

Platonic oumami is my jam.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

He distrusted people, but he trusted people’s talents. By far his most trusted people were Gonta & Miu, and not Shuichi - otherwise, he would have reached out one-on-one a lot sooner than Chapter 4.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I’d love to hear his critique on Kaito’s performance at the chapter 5 trial lol - but more seriously, finding out his reasons/getting a hint of why he took the Rantaro statue. Like. Why!!!

Favorite friendship for this character:

Real or potential??? Because my favourite potential friendship will always be Kaito and him, but as for a canon one, Kokichi & Miu as friends is kind of amazing.

5. Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?

They both have a ton of nicknames for each other. About 2% of them are legitimate endearments, and the rest are either Kokichi’s tsundere af insults and Kaito’s just weird pet names that definitely will not catch on (”Did you just call me cornbread?” “I thought it was cute”. Some people feel extra affectionate when they’re drunk. For Kaito, it’s when he’s hungry).

8. What do the like best about their partner?

Kaito is both intrigued and in love with the cracks in Kokichi’s mask, when trust is high and his walls finally low, the telltale dusting of pink across his cheeks, the secret fondness in his eyes. It takes some sharp observation, but it’s satisfying to see his efforts returned in the form of emotional honesty.

Kokichi loves how easily Kaito can get wound up, especially into a chase. Teasing Kaito is his favorite activity. He also loves his (dumb) rants about space; Kaito gets so passionate during them that it’s impossible not to feel endeared.

25. How much time do they spend together? Do they share their feelings, or hold things in?

A lot of time, probably. Kokichi always pops up “to bother Kaito”, as he claims. They don’t share feelings very honestly, and they’re both so guilty of bottling things up. Ironically Kokichi is better at expressing how he’s feelings, since they’re typically wrapped up in lies and half-truths that Kaito can sift through. Kaito just doesn’t talk about how he feels.

Usually Kokichi has to coax it out of him, before Kaito can get to the point of being self-destructive. It’s a work in progress for them.

Kaito is embarrassingly open about his affection for Kokichi, though. Gross.

How I feel about this character: I love him. He’s baby. And he also makes Rochi’s heart go doki doki, which counts for something I think

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Kurochi, duh, and also with Miu. Him dating both Miu and Kurochi and them kinda just sandwiching him is v good for my soul. Tbh I’m interested in seeing more with him and Kaito or him and Kokichi.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: With his siblings ofc. The Holland sibs are v good.

My unpopular opinion about this character: People sleeping on him like this smh.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I just want him to be happy and snug Rochi a lot.

Favorite friendship for this character: With Rochi yeye

When I started shipping them: Obviously since his creation tbh

My thoughts: God they are so soft and fuzzy and warm and AH!

What makes me happy about them: They are such a huge comfort ship for me, I get so warm and melty whenever I think about them.

What makes me sad about them: It’s really hard having so few people ship something that you do, and god I ship it so intensely ;;;;

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Not to toot my own horn in particular or anything, but it’s all perfect. Every jadochi fanfic.

Things I look for in fanfic: Its existence.

My wishlist: 1. Not written by me, 2. More

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Only acceptable if it’s a big poly relationship that includes the two of them still together.

My happily ever after for them: They kiss, they hug, they’re spicy sometimes, they’re happy.

It’s pretty ridiculous. And even more ridiculous when people are like “Oh no, is there going to be a love triangle with [this aroace] character?”

Like my dude.... Was the fact that she directly said she didn’t like anyone and expressing a wish for the MC to not develop romantic feelings for her not explicit enough for you?
