THYME MOTTA

Standing there alone in the middle of CeCe and (formerly) Robin’s now empty apartment  For someone who had chosen to dedicate her life to helping others sort through their emotions, Thyme had absolutely no idea what to make of the mess that was her head right now. She was furious at CeCe for thinking she had any right to touch Robin, much less kiss her. She was terrified at the thought that maybe Robin had kissed back, that maybe there had been something there despite Thyme swearing up and down that she trusted Robin’s love more than anything else. She was hurt, with a deep, burning hot pain having settled into her chest where she could’ve sworn her heart used to be. For a few seconds, it felt like she could’ve completely crumbled into the earth. The only thing even keeping her standing at the moment was knowing that Robin wasn’t here, and that was something that Thyme could not, and would not, accept.

Without a second thought, Thyme turned on her heel and left the unit, barely thinking to shut the door behind her. She didn’t care about the apartment — it wasn’t Robin’s home anymore, and anything that still needed to be collected was purely materialistic. She didn’t care about CeCe, as much as that hurt given that Thyme had genuinely considered the other girl to be her friend, and that (although anonymously) she’d been one of the first people in Cotton Plant that Thyme felt she could trust. The look on Robin’s face though, and the sound of her screaming, were both at the forefront of Thyme’s mind. That’s what she cared about more than anything else. 

She looked around as soon as she was outside, heart beating loudly in her ears for any sign of her girlfriend. Tears stung the back of her eyes until she finally spotted the dark-haired figure tucked away in Robin’s car. In a rather ungraceful, un-Motta way, she sprinted towards the car and didn’t hesitate before knocking on the window of the driver’s side, wrapping her arms instinctively around her and wanting nothing more than to hold the woman she loved right away.

CHLOE HARPER

It had been so difficult for CeCe to keep her cool last night when she and Robin were texting, which was perhaps why, in all honesty, she hadn’t. It was her wedding night, and as excited as she was to spend it with Ali, she’d spent a good ten minutes locked in the bathroom, trying to hide how uncontrollably she was sobbing while texting her roommate... Ex roommate? There was nothing CeCe could really do about it last night, she couldn’t leave Ali. In fact, she didn’t want to leave her. So she’d stopped texting, jumped in the shower as her excuse as to why she’d been so long, then tried to forget about what was happening.

Today, however, she could finally do something about it, so had made an excuse as to why she had to go back to the apartment—to pick up something of the dogs’ that she’d left behind—then headed out there early, in hopes that she’d catch Robin before she left. Her car was still outside when she arrived, which seemed like a good sign, but once CeCe had let herself into the building, it became clear that she was the only one here. In fact, a good majority of Robin’s belongings were gone already, and the sight brought tears to her eyes all over again. CeCe just sat, defeated, on the couch, quietly sobbing into her hands. If she had to wait, she would. She’d wait all day. Robin had to come back. CeCe had to make sure she didn’t leave her.
