My therapist said something the other day, that blew my mind and I wanted to share.

He brought up my inclination to over explain myself, and the conversation went like this:

Him: why do you think you do that?

Me: Because I’ve had a couple instances in my life where someone said they felt like I was trying to be manipulative/mean/etc when I hadn’t intended that at all. And I thought maybe if I had explained myself better, or said it differently, they wouldn’t have felt that way and the conflict could have been avoided

Him: is it possible they were actually trying to manipulate you by saying that? Especially since you wear on your sleeve that you try to be a good person?

The thought had genuinely never crossed my mind.

Something we didn’t say, because it is an agreed upon understanding between him and I - is that obviously, not every person who says they feel manipulated is trying to do an “UNO reverse” on you.

But it had genuinely never occurred to me that there might be a portion of the population who uses it that way. (This being tumblr, I assume I am not the only person this will be a surprise to)

After that, we discussed how people are, in general, given the benefit of the doubt.

ie: you are (generally speaking) allowed to just say what you think, without the entire group assuming the worst/meanest/most uncharitable definition of what you mean.

Also if you are around people that chronically assume the worst of you, unless you preface everything and give them no other possible alternative to what you say - then you should probably surround yourself with different people.

This could look like a lot of things:

Example: You communicate normally to people who chronically assumes the worst of you

You: hey we tend to have a lot of dirty dishes around, can you to be a little better about putting them in the sink?

Them: as if YOU never leave anything out! I pick up your stuff all the time! I’m tired of you attacking me in my own house!

note: things you didn’t say, but were nonetheless heard:

I never leave the dishes out

You never have to clean up after me, because I’m so clean

You are really gross for the way you live

Example: managing the other person emotions, by over explaining - to a person that requires it from you.

You: hey. Not saying I never leave anything out, but I’ve notice a lot of your dirty dishes being left around the house. Since I do most of the dishes, it’s really hard for me to clean them, and it smells bad, can I ask you to put them in the sink when you’re done with them.

Them: *no response* (but notably - no fight either)

Note: in an inability to interpret what you said as aggressive, they choose to disengage. Because if they feel they are the innocent person being attacked, then being hurtful is justified, but an instance where they look at their own bad behavior- even a small ome - is uncomfortable to the point of disengagement.

Example: over explaining to a normal communicator

You: hey. Not saying I never leave anything out, but I’ve notice a lot of your dirty dishes being left around the house. Since I do most of the dishes, it’s really hard for me to clean them, and it smells bad, can I ask you to put them in the sink when you’re done with them.

Them: okay?? (Wondering why this needed to be such a long question)

Finally: normal communication

You: hey, we tend to have a lot of dirty dishes around. Can I ask you to be a little better about putting them in the sink?

Them: sure thing 👍

Hii just wondering who, in your au, apart of the main PLZA cast, is a hybrid? Aside from Corbeau, I mean. Sorry if you mentioned this before, but im jst curious!! And do the others know? <3

Imma give you a short answer and an overexplaining answer because I realized I don't really have any other opportunity to do sooooo sorry about the paragraph you're about to receive. Short answer: Nope, Corbeau is the only living Hydrid in that world. overexplaining answer: for context: my main au is more than just pokemon. my au/story involves almost all media that I consumed over the years, which includes pokemon (obviously), dispatch, fnaf, yu-gi-oh 5Ds (being specific because it's the version that I use the characters from), Martin Mystery, Resident Evil, and many more fandoms including involving characters that are heavily inspired by the youtubers. those medias turned into their own worlds in the over arching story/universe that I have ever since I could remember.

These worlds are connected by portals that anyone can use

Anyone.

Over explaining: In my pokemon au, years and years ago, before hisuian even existed, there was humanoid monsters like werewolves, vampires, ghouls (the Tokyo ghoul kind), etc. They use to run the world including the pokemon in it. But sooner or later, humans learned of their weaknesses and use it with some help of certain pokemon to destroy them.

To save their bloodlines, some humanoids made hybrid children so the monster genes are weaker, it continues until a human can be safely involved for their heirs. Eventually, the monster gene became dormant.

But during that time, humans are basically hunting them for sports.

In modern day, the scientists, from other worlds that got hired by a specific individual, find these decedents of the monsters and experimented on them to make one of those dormant genes active and turn that human into a monster for them to hunt. why? because the thrill to the ones who paid find entertainment, ridding the world of another monster.

Only a ghoul survived and is in hiding from them.

Sometimes, the scientists will make their own monsters from the knowledge of their own worlds. The hydrid.

Hydrids were never suppose to exist in that world, a world already filled with monsters. A world with dragons that aren't in fear of their blood and flesh being used by humans to get power. A world where dragons lost that curse that they'll inflict on the ones who consumed their blood and flesh. Because why inflict a curse where the conditions can never be met?

To add some flare, they also would use the feral serum to make the hydrids more insane and have the hunt be more fun to their customers. Make them more of a monster than they already made them to be.

But why not see what will happen if the consuming of the serum that can turn one into a hydrid was slow?

Corbeau became their target due to an earlier confirmation.

Hence why Corbeau was targeted and became the only living hydrid in his world. Needing a king from another world to not slowly loose himself. ----------

Bumpy Plush:

I got her for Christmas when I was around eight :D somehow the sound still has not died out 🥀 I used to be scared to have her on the bed while I slept when I was younger because I thought it would play the sound and scare me while I slept 🥀🥀🥀🥀also the reason my sister made some random little kids day at her work (they work at a museum) bc some kid had the Bumpy plush and they said “is that Bumpy???” And the little kid got to happy bc his mom said nobody ever knew who she was :D it’s so cute X3

Parasaurolophus:

His name is Pinecone (took me like a month to think of a name) I got him all because of a Pinterest ad XD He always gets thrown under the bed somehow and then a week later I wonder where he went and then have to break my spine getting him from under the bed or looking in the blankets for him. Has been inside of a Dollar General with @umaishos random ladybug plush. Idfk why we brought them but idgaf I’m a teenager I can still like plushies ^^

Stegosaurus:

Her name is Soup!! :D Soup has tortured multiple of @umaishos plushies. Very chunky plush. Has been traumatized at summercamp in many ways. Many. Many. Ways. I was making one of those thread bracelets and ran out of string so Soup has a lil bracelet but I can’t find it atm. Soup has also been used as a volleyball once. And a doorstopper.

Ankylosaurus:

Her name is Muffin!!1!1 She was the first purchase I made when I got my card 🥲 it lowkey felt illegal to walk out of Barnes and Noble without buying a book. SHE’S WORTH IT THO. Has been to Washington DC on a school trip and probably will never recover from that (I never will either). Surprisingly also a very good pillow. Used to have a necklace for her but it got sacrificed because I needed a certain color of bead on it for smth else.

Geography:

This is the geography of the one piece world which is 7 times larger than earth, and mostly ocean. Inside the calm belts pictured above the is no wind or current, making it almost impossible to traverse. It is also filled with sea monsters that eat any ship that cross it. The calm belts surround the grand line, a dangerous strip of ocean that goes around the equator , where magnetic fields form islands make compasses useless, so log poses must be used , which, once exposed to the magnetic fields of an island track onto the next island in order, until LodeStar island, the (second to last) island in the grand line. To get through the red line into the second half of the grand line, one has to coat their ship in bubbles, go under the red line, and then back up to the second half of the grand line (or the new world).

Power Systems

Haki: Hali is an embodiment of one’s will power and comes in three forms, as well as their advanced versions

Armament Haki

Armament haki essentially hardens your skin, and allows you to hit logia users (will explain later).

Advanced Armament haki comes in two forms, One which allows you to hit people in invisible bursts without touching them, and another which hurts the person you hits internal organs, without having to go through their skin.

Observation Haki

Observation haki allows you to see way farther than normal, as well as allowing you to sense where a future threat is coming from.

Advanced Observation Haki cons in several forms. Future sight allows you to see a few seconds (or more if you’re really good) into the future. Voice of all things allows you to hear the will and true intentions of anything that is sentient. Voice of all things is not able to be trained; it is innate.

Conquerors Haki

Conq. Haki is the rarest form of haki, it is innate and only those with the spirit of a king can use it. It essentially allows you to inflict your will on other spirits, essentially knocking massive amounts of people out.

Advanced conqueror

Advanced conquerors haki, or conquerors coating, is essentially better armament haki.

Devil Fruits

Devil fruits are mystical fruits that give one superpowers at the cost of their ability to swim. Only one devil fruit or devil fruit user can exist of each type of devil fruit at any one time, and when a devil fruit user dies the closest compatible fruit to them transforms into said fruit. Devil fruits come in three forms.

Logia-Allows the user to turn into an element, such as fire or magma or really anything that is natural, even a tree. They are impermeable to almost all attacks that aren’t coated in armament haki. When awakened the user can turn their environment into their element.

Zoan- Allows one to turn into an animal (or mythical being) or an animal human hybrid, giving them powers that fit the animal or mythical being. Zoan fruits can also be fed to objects as Zoan devil fruits have a will of their own. When awakened the user turns into a more complete hybrid, as their animal and human minds sync up. Sometimes this awakening fails and the users will is taken over by the animals will.

Paramecia : Any power that doesn’t fit into the previous category. The awakenings are equally bs.

Power structures

The power of the one piece world is divided into 7 different seats of power: The World Government (WG), the Revolutionary Army (RA), the Yonkos, and Cross Guild.

The WG is the primary power in the one piece world, made up of dozens of member states, that essentially run the world, and are lead by the Gorosei (or five elders) who are the most powerful men in the world (at least in the public’s view). Non memeber states citizens have no rights and are killed for sport by celestial dragons, or used as slaves, or js left ot eh in poverty.The true rulers are the celestial dragons, who are treated as gods, and can own slaves unlike anyone else in the world, and must be bowed down to when they walk through the streets. They are a metaphor for the Ruling class in the real world, and are absolutely despicable and disgusting (except for about three good ones). They however do not control the government. That is in the hands of Imu. Not much is known about Imu except that they are 900 years old or older, were around in the void century (i’ll get into that later) and are extraordinarily powerful. The WG also runs the navy, which is essentially the military and the police force.

The RA: The RA is a ragtag group of soldiers who fight against the WG, and is lead by Monkey D. Dragon, the worlds most wanted man. His second in Command (or chief of staff) is Sabo, and below sabo are 5 commanders. Not much is known about them, but they fight against the WG and for the average person.

Cross Guild is a very new organization, lead by Buggy, and his two followers (who are vastly more powerful than him), Mihawk, the worlds strongest swordsman, and Crocodile. They put bounties on Marines and run the underworld of One Piece (drugs, gambling etc).

The Yonkos are four unaffiliated pirate groups, who are extremely powerful. One of them is Buggy and Cross Guild ,which is a very new organization, lead by Buggy, and his two followers (who are vastly more powerful than him), Mihawk, the worlds strongest swordsman, and Crocodile;They put bounties on Marines and run the underworld of One Piece (drugs, gambling etc). Another one is shanks, he is a role model of the main character and is allied with Elbaph, the land of the giants, but not much is known about him, except that he is absurdly strong and born a celestial dragons, and that he used to be on the king of the pirates ship, along with buggy. Edward D. Teach (AKA Blackbeard), another Yonko, is the only character in one piece with more than one devil fruits, how he did it is a mystery. He runs pirate island, and island full of exclusively pirates, knows of Imu, and wants to kill Imu and take over the world. It is strongly implied he will be a major antagonist. The final Yonko is Monkey D. Luffy, son of Monkey D. Dragon, the main character. He ate the Human-Human fruit model Nika and got the powers of the sun god nika (essentially looney toones powers), although he thinks he ate the Gum Gum fruit and became a rubber human.

Plot Synopsis:

If i were to go in depth on the whole plot i’d be here for hours so Im just gonna shorten it down to a few sentences.

Years ago, the pirate king, Gol D. Roger obtains everything the world had to offer, Wealth, Fame Power. Before he was executed a man asked a question: WHERE IS IT? WHERE IS YOUR TREASURE??. He replied, laughing, “I LEFT IT ALL AT THE END OF THE GRAND LINE. EVERYTHING THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER. SO GO FIND IT!” As he died , he started a great era of piracy, where millions flocked to the sea in search of treasure. ~Thirty years later, Monkey D. Luffy, at the age of Sixteen, set out to become king of the pirates, to find the one piece, but to most importantly become the freest man in the world. As he went from the east blue to the first half of the grand line to the new world he made enemies with the world government, lost one of his brothers and found one again, and made friends and freed several oppressed nations. Currently he is in Elbaph, and soon the final dash to find the one piece will be made by thousands of pirates across the globe.
