Now, it’s quite possible that the FBI will come up with nothing in the Russia probe — but that they will come up with nothing honestly. It’s also possible that the FBI was perverted by the Obama administration in order to cover for Hillary Clinton, but not to target Trump, which would be a scandal all its own. Finally, it’s possible that the FBI is indeed filled with people motivated to end Trump’s presidency.
But we simply don’t know enough to answer which of these options is correct. And here’s the problem: every option will now cripple Americans’ basic faith in their institutions. If Republicans are right, the FBI has become a hotbed of corruption. If they’re lying, the Republican Party has become a corrupt vehicle ready to undermine valuable law enforcement institutions in defense of Trump. There is no in-between.
And that means no matter how this ends, it ends ugly.
I kinda hate it when the word "Karen" gets generalized online to simply mean "annoying woman" when it started out with such a specific definition. Nothing is sacred, huh?
Stop overgeneralizing about weed!!!
I get really frustrated at people who act like weed will solve all your problems or automatically make your life better. And I get equally frustrated with people who claim that weed is always a terrible influence on people and will hurt you, blah blah blah. I unfortunately see a lot of both. It's just a drug and like any drug it can do good or bad things, and different people respond differently to it.
I think what is often going on is that these people have had a particular experience either using weed, or looking at people around them, and seeing either good or bad things happen, and then they wrongly assume that everyone will have that experience.
I've smoked weed myself, not regularly, and I've seen a lot of people close to me use weed in varying ways, both recreational and medicinal. I've seen people use it occasionally and people use it daily.
And the one thing I see over and over again is that different people respond really differently to weed, even to the same level of usage and the same strains. People's reactions seem to me to be more different than the average drug, definitely more different than alcohol and caffeine, and possibly more different than a large number of recreational and prescription drugs. And this is kinda a big deal because alcohol and caffeine are still things that different people can respond quite differently to.
Some examples of different responses to weed:
two people might smoke a similar amount of the same strain of weed, and one of them might feel more relaxed and mellowed out, whereas the other might become anxious or even paranoid.
two people might smoke the same strain of weed in the same party, and one of them might become much more open-minded and potentially interested in new types of music that they've never liked before, whereas another one of them might become fixated on wanting to listen to a specific type of music they already like, and even less interested in listening to other types of music.
one person might respond to weed by wanting to philosophize and bounce ideas back and forth with another person, whereas another might want to zone out and not interact with other people at all, maybe just meditating on their thoughts, or perhaps focusing on sensory stimuli.
one person might find a certain level of regular weed usage helps them to function better, such as by dialing down anxiety, pain, or other medical symptoms that were distracting them, or maybe by just making their brain work more the way they want it to. Another person might find the same level of regular weed usage leads them to become burned out, unmotivated, and unable to function normally.
What does this mean?
It means that you can't generalize about weed being good or bad for you, based on just observing your experience or the experience of one or two people close to you.
I have a theory that whatever systems in the body weed acts on, some people's brains are naturally "higher" than others. If you're someone who is naturally "high" all the time, marijuana might be more likely to send you out of balance, making you feel anxious or paranoid. These people however are less prone to become dependent on weed or burned out. If you're naturally "low" in these systems, marijuana brings you more into balance so you are more likely to respond positively to it. However some people who respond well can find they are more likely to become dependent on it and thus they are a bit more prone to becoming burned out with heavy, regular use. I don't know if this theory is true or not, it's just my way of making sense of what I have experienced and see around me.
I just know that it's important not to generalize about weed based on limited experiences.
My newest thing I'm trying with therapy is to actively recognize cogntive distortions as I'm feeling them and try to have a proportionate response instead of just crying all day because I've never been loved before
