Dumb Things that Bug Me: Characters' Aging in Kingdom Hearts
So we can tell that the presence of both a Heart and Will is required to age.
Sora at the end of CoM is stuffed in a memory pod to recover. It took him about a month to reach Castle Oblivion and then the better part of another before get put in the pod. He ages for during the year in the pod while sleeping. His Heart is present, his Will is present, although his Memory is fucked up (which somehow affects other people which still bugs me in itself).
Ventus... ignoring everything with X and Dark Road before BbS for a moment because I can't quite gauge how old he is X's artstyle (his hair grows so time does pass for him) and being unable to tell if he's a 100% match in height from BbS's prologue to four years later when the plot of BbS kicks in. The model under the white cloth looks mostly the same aside from some slight differences in the face/eyes. He doesn't age for 13 years between BbS's ending and KH3's events because his Heart is in Sora (and probably Roxas who then gets stuffed back into Sora anyway). His body isn't in a Castle Oblivion Memory Pod but set on a weird throne with unclear potential powers considering its similarity to the similar Chamber Xemnas uses.
In spite of claims to the contrary, Nobodies clearly do age in spite of their Heart not being in their bodies. Their Memory and Will remains mostly the same and this is reflected in their restored Somebodies
Yes some characters insist they're not their Nobodies (the re-embodied XIII members), and others genuinely being separate people from their Somebodies (Roxas and Namine). Plus Xion's whole thing as a person in spite of being built off of an originally empty shell brought to life with stolen memories (and looking a little older in the KH3 images I've seen of her vs her appearance in 358/2 Days). But PHYSICALLY and with experienced time/memory they do get older from when they were originally whole.
Xigbar is visibly older than Braig, although its not entirely clear if the streaks of gray hair are from aging or from being partially Xehanort'd. (The other Nobodies do not have graying hair, setting aside Xemnas's full head of silver given his situation of Terra's body bodyjacked by Xehanort who himself had gray hair as a child.)
Saix and Axel are clearly adults (late 20s / early 30s) while in BbS Isa and Lea were teenagers. They got Nobody'd within days of the Apprentices (which included Ienzo), so they definitely grew older as Nobodies. Ienzo in BbS is definitely a child (I think 8 years old but I forget) and looks roughly the same when the De-Heartening takes place. Zexion looks around 18 in CoM and Ienzo re-embodied looks like a young adult.
...
So - I'm dead serious on this - what the hell is going on with the Duck Triplets? Is this Cartoon Physics? A lack of actual character designs for them as adults? They're still 10. It's been 13 years in-setting for them and they're still 10. "Different worlds experience time differently-" they still experience time! They were with the Traverse Town / Hollow Bastion / Radiant Garden crew and it took them roughly a year or two while rebuilding Hollow Bastion! Yuffie looks a little taller (although not much) so she aged. Mickey also experienced time between BbS and KH1 too so its not a case of Disney Town / Disney Castle being slower!
guys someone said allegedly the vote was to abstract someone, and im having an overthinking crisis again.
Janosh (about Adder): Instead, he die like dog in fucking courtyard with hole in gut.
Zizka (about Dry Devil): He's as twisted as a hangman's noose. He can also be as bitter and angry as a rabid dog. It's certainly better not to fuck around with him.
My take on the Economy of Hell in the Hellaverse. (Warning, chronic overthinking of worldbuilding and novice in economic understanding opinions incoming.)
So I can rest assured that no person has ever thought about how the economics/trade between rings/where resources are harvested and manufactured to make sure Hell can keep up with their hyper-capitalistic society. Now do I think the writers ever intended this? NO, I just have a think for picking away at the implications left by them and building in-depth worldbuilding ideas out of it Before getting into the details, this all works off the fact that by all means Hellborn's society is pretty much mimicking or parallel thinking produced copy of Human society. Now that is another can of worms, but by all means from what we've seen, Hellborn society is practically the same as our own on Earth. Anyway lets get into it lmao. And Pride will be discussed last as its a big center of Hellish Economy and is a bit of wildcard.
Wrath - Extraction of Raw Materials (Ore, Rare-Earth [Or I guess Hell] metals, OIL pretty much any stone related material like marble, gravel, etc) and Ranching, with a little bit of agriculture (Mostly to support feeding the livestock)
Given the volcanic nature of Wrath from what we've seen, added onto how it styles itself like the Southwestern States (Talking Desert States like New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and some Texas/Oklahoma notes for ranching) extraction of various metals/stones makes perfect sense here. Along with other rings not really making sense for large scale mining to sustain a population of billions (Across Sinners and Hellborn) Given the desert environment and other notes, it also likely has a large industry for natural gas and crude oil extraction.
The ranching mainly comes from what we see of Millie's family, Wrath likely is responsible for most of the livestock products like milk, eggs, wool, and then all the meats from those animals.
Gluttony - Agriculture and Lumber/Wood related products Now this is just very fitting given well gluttony. From what we've seen its a tropical paradise and likely accounting for hellish magic likely hosts a wide range of Hellish twists of Earthly fruits/vegs. along with earthly delights (Given Lucifer and his apples) I could also see other animal products like honey and silk and some cross over with Wrath with stable items like milk, eggs, etc.
Given the abundance of trees, this likely is where most wood/tree related products like Maple Syrup are produced.
Greed - Manufacturing (And Center of the Hellborn Economy, I'll get around to why I say that in Pride) Another one that really fits the sin of the ring/what we've seen of it. Greed is the hub of commerce for Hellborn. Raw materials from all other rings are sent to Greed to be produced further. So full of Refineries, Sawmill, Chemical plants, smelteries. Along with filling roles in producing a large amount of the products for other rings. By all means its the China of the Hell Economy. Every ring likely has their own smaller scale manufacturing for goods, but if you want something produced for cheap and in mass, you do it in Greed.
Under mentioned fact is that Greed/Mammon seemingly manages currency production/by all means controls inflation of Hell's currency. Given one of Verosika's band shirts has the name Mint City for a place in greed it's pretty sure that is where all the currency is minted. (Its a whole can of worms getting in what it means that Mammons bills look like US bills, cause in-universe the implication is weird)
Lust - "Toy" production ;) and Entertainment/Tourism Now this one is the first big stretch on account of not seeing enough of Lust to get a good read on things. Asmodeus by all means funds a fortune 500 company for his lust-branded toys and seems to be in big enough demand to have him very successful.
What we can pick up from the Episode where DHORKS get into Hell and fight in Lust, there is a lot of infrastructure for hotels/spas. So it could be informed they make a lot of their money from tourism from other rings.
For a purely head canoned aspect, I can imagine the entertainment industry (Both Adult and not) is a major driver in Lust. Since we see many times that Hell has their own soap operas implying a diverse media landscape. Of course all supplementing the pirated signals from both Hell and Earth.
Envy - Tourism/Entertainment, Seafood and Luxury Goods Now this is pure head canon since we haven't seen Envy enough to get even a vain idea of what they are doing. Tourism and Entertainment come purely from the idea that it's likely very tropical for the beachy side of things. Along with Envy feeling right to be the hub for a bunch of famous actors/performers heh
Seafood comes from a similar assumption with it likely being host to large bodies of water where Hellish fishes can spawn.
Luxury Goods (Jewelry, clothes, bags, etc) now this is a stab into working with the sin of the ring itself. It feels very on brand for Envy of all places to be producing the high tier of products that is sure to make anyone you walk past feel envious. Plus there is some pun to be found with beachy ring being home to all the treasure
Sloth- Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare related products Again working with little info but given we've seen multiple Sloth related anti-depressants pill, along with Stolas being sent to Sloth to be treated all the way from Wrath, they clearly have the focus on healthcare. Not to be much of stretch to imagine they also produce medical devices too to sustain themselves.
Pride - WILDCARD Now we end the journey at pride, the domain of sinners and pretty much free for all. From what we've seen we have major mechanical/weapons manufacturing with Carmilla and a wide range of electronics/entertainment of all kinds with Voxtek.
Given Sinners nature, I can see Pride being a major range of small scale manufacturing of the more modern tech as Humans bring Earthly culture and up to date knowledge on technical advancements with them with death.
As to how it fits in with the rest of hell, it likely is a major sink for products from all the other rings, while being a major exporter of more specialized goods. Such as Moxxie having a very high regard for Carmine made Weapons.
But as such, Carmilla and Vox likely can't harvest/produce everything needed for their finished goods within pride alone (As both electronics and weapons kinda need a wide variety of martials to produce.) Meaning they are likely major imports from other rings like Greed and Wrath to keep their own homegrown manufacturing good.
As for past that, it's kinda up to you to imagine as we haven't seen any major overlords with a major production like this. Depending on the ration to Sinners and Hellborn populations, Pride could either be the lynch pin in the Hell's economy due to having wildly more consumers then all the other rings. Or, given the implication of how built up the other rings are, that Pride is just one gear in the machine that is Hell's economy.
Conclusion There is so much I would love to go into the worldbuilding behind Hellborn society because its such an interesting topic if you look at it through the lens of a real historian/sociologist because their similarities to humans/human society raises so many interesting questions if looked at from an in-universe perspective. Yes the writers/animators did this because its easy to copy what you already know. But I find it more interesting to take this approach.
Well, that was a major yap lmao. I would love to hear peoples thoughts on this, if you even have them. I doubt most people would read all of this and I can't blame yea XD Just one of those things I wanted to write out somewhere to get it out of my mind.
So…John fixed the boiler then?
Since there was no mention of it today and he wasn’t using oxygen.
another random question: the 100
Okay, so Bellamy was a "stowaway" on the dropship when it first goes to Earth. My question is: where exactly would he have gone? I mean, we saw what happened when those two kids unbuckled themselves. He'd have to be fully seated and buckled in, so he wasn't thrown and killed during landing.
It just makes me laugh thinking about EXACTLY 101 seats in the dropship. I mean, I can't imagine the seat numbers were anything besides 100, otherwise there'd be so many unfilled seats.
sometimes adulting is stupid and depressing. then you remember that the years between the ages of 10 and 18 were stolen from you and you decide that some self-care is in order, and that looks like putting the adulting down for a bit to play minecraft with someone fun
