Owain marred himself for Nom.
Owain whipped himself with his nine tails until he could hardly stand straight without being in excurating pain.
He ripped into his arms with his claw like gauntlets.
He payed penance everytime Nom failed to be a knight worthy of the knight God.
Nom breaks his oath and owain pays penance for that too, and now Nom is dead
Nom is dead and all his sacrificing and bloodshed was for nothing. But even so he looks at the scars and hope in some life form Nom has found peace. Even if his back still hurts from the scars, even if his skin around his arms are pulled tait with damege.
This is a question that’s been floated around in a lot of Nom’s Lore Conversations, and I’m curious to know what y’all think.

I really like the idea that the masquerade everyone knows who everyone is (obviously) but they all came to the same conclusion or opinion that they should pretend to have never met each other before.
A day free from their past rivalry and torment to one another, free from their duties. A place to let off steam.
Owain acting like he doesn't recognize kitty but awkwardly trying to talk to her.
"Come here as you are, not what your expected to be" like i kinda interpret that as like Be yourself without all of society's pressures on you. Be who you want to be be, be free, for atleast one night.

And I know im digging to much but when Frouge said to owain "oh goodness your drinking the thick stuff" he sounded shocked as if this is unexpected. Which IT IS, to them owain is calm and collected, not the type to farkle or loose control of himself. He always says he never Farkles canonically. But here he is under the flimsy disguise, that everyone sees through but all came into the understanding of feigning ignorance to, drinking two bottles in a span of one conversation.
I wish I could draw so so bad cus imagine this: owain in the air, coming towards, with his great sword swinging it at the creaking king, the setting sun in the background or maybe the words of "i won't be as easy to kill as arthur" and blurry figures of the other kingdom members on the side also fighting but the main focus is owain. As the creaking king has his neck twisted back, crooked and wrong, looking directly at owain. As if he truly knows everything... LIKE IT WOULD VE SICK. in a kinda blended painting style, the wind and clouds parting for owain. God I wish I could draw
