The Lion’s Gate Portal: Tapping Into the Energy of 8/8 (Even if It's Not "Technically" Astrology) Shaina Tranquilino August 8, 2025
Every year on August 8th, the internet lights up with posts, reels, rituals, and reflections centered around a powerful date: the Lion’s Gate Portal. Whether you're a full-on cosmic believer or a curious skeptic with a Pinterest board titled "Manifestation Vibes", there's no denying the growing popularity of this spiritual holiday. But what is the Lion's Gate Portal—and is it actually a thing in astrology?
Let’s take a grounded look at this trending topic, then explore how you can work with the energy of 8/8 (real or imagined) to connect with your goals, intuition, and highest self.
What is the Lion’s Gate Portal?
The Lion’s Gate Portal is believed to occur every year on August 8 (8/8) when the Earth aligns with the Sirius star, and the Sun is in Leo—the bold, fiery sign associated with self-expression, courage, and heart-centered action. Spiritually, it's said to be a time when a cosmic gateway opens, allowing potent energy to flow between the physical and spiritual realms.
Sounds magical, right? Here's the catch: mainstream astrology doesn’t officially recognize the Lion’s Gate Portal as a legit astrological event.
There’s no chart alignment or astrological transit that specifically designates August 8 as inherently more powerful than any other day. The Sirius rising was important to ancient Egyptian skywatchers, but its timing shifts slightly each year depending on your location. Also, numerology—the study of numbers' spiritual meanings—isn’t an official part of astrology either.
So in terms of hard, traditional astrological grounding? The Lion’s Gate Portal is more New Age mysticism meets collective energy movement than it is ancient star-lore.
But that doesn’t mean it's useless.
Belief, Intention, and the Power of Ritual
Here’s the thing: belief is a powerful force. Rituals, even if symbolic, help us anchor our intentions and re-center our energy. If you’ve ever journaled under a full moon, made a vision board, or simply paused to set a goal with clarity, you’ve practiced a kind of manifestation magic.
And August 8 does have a lot going for it:
The Sun is in Leo, a sign ruled by the Sun itself. It’s bold, expressive, and reminds us to shine from the inside out.
The number 8 in numerology is associated with abundance, power, balance, and karmic alignment. On 8/8, this double energy feels especially potent.
Collective focus creates a current. When millions of people are focusing on alignment, manifestation, and higher consciousness on the same day, that energetic “field” can feel real and supportive, whether or not the stars say so.
So, if you want to believe in the Lion’s Gate Portal—or even just use 8/8 as a symbolic day to check in with your dreams—do it.
How to Make the Most of 8/8 Energy
If you’re into the Lion’s Gate Portal (or even Lion’s Gate-curious), here are some simple, meaningful ways to work with the energy of August 8:
1. Set Clear Intentions
Take time to write down what you really want. Not the safe, logical version—your soul-level desires. Ask yourself:
What am I ready to receive?
What is my heart calling me toward?
Where am I holding myself back?
Clarity is the first step in any manifestation.
2. Create a Lion’s Gate Ritual
Rituals don’t have to be elaborate. Try:
Lighting a candle and meditating on your desires
Pulling tarot or oracle cards for guidance
Writing a letter to your future self
Creating a manifestation jar or vision board
Use symbols that feel powerful to you—lion imagery, gold tones, crystals like citrine or sunstone.
3. Tap Into Leo Energy
Leo rules creativity, self-love, leadership, and heart-driven expression. Do something bold:
Wear something that makes you feel confident
Speak up about something you believe in
Start a passion project you've been dreaming about
Let your inner lion ROAR.
4. Visualize with Feeling
Take a few minutes to visualize your desires as if they’ve already happened. Feel the joy, pride, and gratitude as if you’re living it now. Emotion fuels manifestation.
5. Release What’s Blocking You
Sometimes before we can call things in, we need to let things go. Journal on:
What fears or doubts are holding me back?
What limiting beliefs do I need to rewrite? Then, burn or bury the paper (safely!) to symbolically release them.
Whether you fully believe in the cosmic gateway of the Lion’s Gate or just enjoy a good excuse to pause and reflect, the truth is this: any day can be magical when you approach it with intention. 8/8 might not be written in the stars, but it is written in the hearts of thousands who use it to dream bigger, love harder, and show up more fully.
And really—what’s more Leo than that?
So light your candle, open your journal, and tell the universe what you want. Even if it’s not “real” astrology, it’s still real energy. And that counts for something.
🦁✨ Happy Lion’s Gate, dreamer.
Photos are not mine, I just put the stuff together :)

The Rise of the 🖱Copy-Paste Sugar Daddies Who Can’t Handle a Real One💖💸
Lately, my inbox has been full of these guys acting like they got it all figured out. They come in talking about how they want a sugar baby. Seven thousand a month. No nudes. No sex. Just company. Like they’re offering some fairytale deal.
I kept it respectful and told one, “No thank you.” Then he hits me with “babe,” like we’re close or something. If I already said “no,” why are you still pushing it? That’s not confidence, that’s disrespect.
Then, he asks where I’m from. Sir, if you actually paid attention to anything besides sending the same message to ten girls a day, you would already know.
(Y'all should know I'm from D A L L A S, T E X A S )
For a second, I thought he hadn’t liked my pics either, so I said that too. Later, I noticed he had, but by then it was too late. I was ready to clear that part up and keep it real but guess what happened:
He blocked me 😂😂
Did all that just to disappear. Couldn’t even handle one honest reply. Couldn’t finish what he started. That’s what these types do. They want to feel like they’re in control like they’re spoiling somebody. But the moment you don’t react how they expect they fold like nothing.
These guys are not looking to take care of anyone. They’re looking for someone who won’t question them. Someone to play pretend and give them attention. The minute you check them or speak your mind they’re gone.
So to the ones sliding in with the same script and no real energy behind it,
Save your little roleplay for someone else.
I’m not the one 💅

Burukluk yoktu. Heyecan ve mutluluk vardı.
Gaia kendi yolunu çizen, içindeki gücü keşfeden, başkalarının biçtiği rollerden sıyrılan bir kurt kız. Ve ben onunla gurur duyuyorum.
Minik cadım, kendi hikayeni yazmaya devam et. ✨️
