Just a reminder that is ending exists.
'I have places to go' has so much potential for storytelling.
Frisk could have a loving family that they want to return to. Maybe they were so traumatized by the Underground that they believed that anything was better than staying with them. Maybe they feel like they don't deserve Toriel's love and care.
SO MUCH UNTAPPED POTENTIAL!!
imagine if asgore, clover, and frisk's plan to break the barrier in the true pacifist timeline went uninterrupted and it worked and the barrier broke just then and there??? how would they react?
Asgore would certainly... not take it very well.
evil something new be like:
frisk forces sans to do pacifist runs repeatedly with them out of a misguided belief that by keeping everyone happy forever, nobody can get hurt ever again. they also fear the uncertain future that comes with letting the Monsters roam the surface as opposed to keeping them Underground, in an endless cycle where they know they are in complete control over every little thing.
"It's scary, isn't it Sans? How unpredictable everything is up there... why don't we just stick to Something Old? Together."
Sans' SOUL starts changing - leaking an odd, golden liquid - which Frisk claims is DETERMINATION in its purest form - the same kind that allowed them to save the lost souls time and time again. It allows him to feel emotions more strongly, almost overwhelmingly so. It doesn't help that he was a hopeless nihilist before taking Frisk's offer. To the point where it sometimes feels like his emotions are consuming him whole, and that cracks are forming within his very SOUL.
But he can't stop helping the kid. They just want to keep everyone safe and happy. Even if everything in him is screaming at him not to do this, to find a way to force the kid to let everyone have their happily ever after and let go, he just can't bring himself to go against them for whatever reason. Something.. fundamental to his being keeps him from doing so.
(Feel free to use/expand on this idea however you'd like!)
" I haven't been punched in weeks. " Genuinely so shocked.
Pacifist🌱 or Genocide🔪. Which will you choose?
I'm glad that Asgore and Toriel didn't get back together because of Toriel; she likes to make jabs at Asgore whenever she has the chance, constantly puts him down and likes to think that's she's much better than him when she has as many flaws as he does:
1. Even though it probably wasn't her intention, she tries to "kidnap" Frisk.
2. She attacks Frisk and makes him fight her when he just wants to leave.
3. After Frisk leaves the Ruins, she doesn't protect Frisk throughout his adventure until the very end, just because she doesn't want to see Asgore again.
4. She could have tried to calm Asgore down when he was filled with rage after Chara and Asriel died, but instead, she fled to the Ruins and left the monster kingdom up to be ruled by Asgore all by himself when he wasn't in the best state of mind, like the coward she is.
5. Her plan of telling Asgore to go kill six random humans to obtain their souls would've jumpstarted another war, while at the same time, she wanted to find any way to make peace with the humans again.
6. She is relentlessly rude to Asgore even though he is already aware of what he's done and feels very bad for his actions and lets her walk all over him.
Even though it seems like I hate Toriel in this ask, I really don't. I really like her and I know that every major character in Undertale is flawed on purpose. I just wish that Asgore would stand up for himself and put Toriel in her place.
Interesting analysis
JUDGEMENT
The last corridor is probably a pretty common subject in UT fan art but I decided to attempt it anyway because I wanted to test my lighting and perspective skills~
