This container was still packed with colour from the foliage of what might have been the cultivar Coleus scutellarioides ‘Wizard Scarlet’ (coleus, painted nettle, Chinese basil). This tender, evergreen perennial can be grown from seed or easily raised from softwood cuttings.

This was taken two years back in a quieter spot of the Gardens by the Bay. We might’ve probably missed it but we didn’t see them when we visited the same spot recently.

I’m propagating some coleus’ , trying to get a collection of them going on now . Can’t wait to see how many different kinds of these bad girls I can grow !
