HIII!! May I request teen reader with parental figure!Jing Yuan? Reader is friends with Yanqing (I was thinking that reader is a cloud knight directly under Yanqing for missions... maybe? They got close as they're around the same age). They get even closer which lead him to invite reader to meet Jing Yuan, then that gets more frequent and Jing Yuan starts to go "mhm second child" and reader also goes "mhm parental figure"

You were supposed to be resting after a mission, but you couldn't resist the temptation to watch your friend in action. His strikes were quick, precise, and filled with the energy of someone who had been training relentlessly for years. You, however, preferred a quieter approach to combat, relying on strategy and careful planning rather than brute force.

"Hey, ready to join in?" Yanqing’s voice broke you from your thoughts.

You grinned, raising an eyebrow. "You want me to go easy on you?"

Yanqing scoffed, lowering his blade and flashing you an impish smile. "As if I need your pity."

"Don't worry," you said with a smirk, "I wouldn't give you pity if you begged for it."

He laughed, a sound that was light but full of confidence. "Well, you're on then."

Before you could step forward, Yanqing's gaze flickered to the side. His expression softened, and he quickly straightened up. "Ah, it's General."

You turned to follow his gaze, spotting Jing Yuan standing at the entrance to the training area, his sharp eyes surveying the scene with quiet attention. The serene aura that always surrounded him was like a calming breeze, and his presence was enough to make anyone pause in respect.

"General." Yanqing called out with a respectful bow.

Jing Yuan gave a small nod, his calm demeanor never wavering. "How are your lessons going, Yanqing?" His voice, though soft, held a weight to it that could silence any room.

"I’m progressing well," Yanqing replied with a bright smile, then turned to you. "Oh, and this is my friend, [Name]. They've been on missions with me for a while now."

Jing Yuan’s gaze shifted to you, and for a moment, you felt the weight of his eyes studying you—assessing, calculating. "It’s a pleasure to meet one of my student's companions. Yanqing speaks highly of you."

Inside, Jing Yuan was as composed as ever, sitting at a low table with a scroll in hand, his eyes flicking up only when you and Yanqing entered.

"Ah, [Name], you’ve returned," he remarked, though his tone was casual, as though you’d been coming and going for years.

"I’m just stopping by," you said, with a small grin. "I’ll be out of your hair soon."

Jing Yuan’s lips quirked up slightly, but he didn’t comment. Instead, he set the scroll down and beckoned you over to join them. "Sit, sit. Yanqing, I trust you’ve been teaching them well?"

You chuckled, settling into the seat next to him. "Well, I wouldn't say teaching per se... But I’ve been keeping Yanqing from getting too reckless."

"Reckless, you say?" Yanqing shot you a playful glare, clearly not offended, but you could see the glimmer of pride in his eyes.

"Reckless is an understatement," you teased back.

Jing Yuan leaned back slightly, eyeing the two of you with a thoughtful expression. "I can see that you’ve become quite close. It’s good to see Yanqing surrounded by such capable people."

You nodded, trying to hide the small blush that crept up on your face. "Thank you, General. It’s been... an honor to work alongside him."

"Mm," Jing Yuan said, his eyes twinkling with a knowing look. "You’ve done well, both of you."

Over time, your visits to Jing Yuan’s quarters became more frequent, especially after missions or during downtime. At first, it was just casual conversations—discussions of recent missions, lighthearted banter, or even moments of silent reflection. But the more time you spent with him, the more you began to feel a strange sense of belonging in his presence.

Jing Yuan often referred to you as his “child,” though he said it with a fondness that made your heart warm in a way you didn’t quite understand. It wasn’t the strict, authoritative tone that most might use with a subordinate, but more like the gentle prodding of a parent who cared deeply but didn’t need to say it outright.

And you, in turn, began to call him "father figure" in response, sometimes with an exaggerated bow or a playful grin, but it was always said with genuine affection.

"I know you won’t, my child." Jing Yuan replied, the corners of his lips curving upward.

And just like that, the unspoken bond between you and Jing Yuan grew stronger. The calm, wise, and patient leader of the Xianzhou had become more than just an ally or mentor—he had become a father figure, and in turn, you had become a beloved part of his ever-expanding family.

Vent with positivity ahead:

Shot out to every person who never had a loving parental figure in their life.

No matter for what reason (busy, missing, abusive, passed away), but your parent wasn’t there for you. 

That for some reason, you didn't receive the love you were supposed to receive as a child and it affects your life to this day.

It's not too late; Right now, you can decide to become a loving parent to yourself. And give yourself all the love, compassion, listening, acceptance, and warmth you need.

You have it all inside of you! And you know better than anyone what you need.

Be that character for yourself!   Talk and encourage yourself with compassion the same way you would talk to a good friend, because you need to be your own best friend.

I drew Alix under this vent because right now she is completely alone in the rabbit hole of time. With no one but herself from the future to give her support and guidance, and she is doing a great job!

(Alix’s family is actually really lovely in canon.. But I found her to be the best character to convey my idea, and she also happens to be my favorite character from the series so…)

I feel like WayLay's ended up longer than Veto's part, so I apologize for that. He doesn't really have much right now other than voice lines, so it's a bit hard to grasp his character atm.

Veto

⭑.ᐟ Veto doesn't outright say he cares for you like a father would his kiddo, but actions speak louder than words, and he does a lot of actions to prove he cares.

⭑.ᐟ He definitely keeps a watchful eye over you whenever he can. On a mission together? He's right behind you. Just sitting on the couch watching TV? He's doing that dad thing where they stand behind the couch and watch the TV too, but insist they aren't interested.

⭑.ᐟ Whenever needed, asked for or not, his arms are wide open for a hug. He can just tell when you're down in the dumps and he's already grasping you in a tight and warm hug. No matter what time of day it is, he's always there to comfort you.

⭑.ᐟ Going to him for advice is something he takes with pride. The fact that you feel comfortable enough to ask him about something personal? Something you feel embarrassed about? God his heart might explode. And you know he's going to give you the best advice he can, experienced in the topic or not.

⭑.ᐟ Cooking isn't his specialty, but he's perfected a few dishes. Ask and he'll cook something up for you, just for you, not even Tejo could get a bite. He'll make sure of it.

ᯓᡣ𐭩 On late nights when you can't sleep, due to stress, insomnia, whatever, don't be afraid to wake him up should he be asleep. He'd hate for you to be alone on dreary nights. His weighted blankets are pushed onto you as he sets up the TV, playing a show or movie he knows you like. When he sits down next to you he wraps his arm around you and pulls you into his side.

While he might try to stay up until you fall asleep, he might fall asleep first. Nevertheless, his warmth extends the invitation to you.

Waylay

⭑.ᐟ Ariya would tell Brimstone and the other older agents that she feels like a mother to you, but god forbid any of the younger agents, or even yourself, find out she ever said that. Though it definitely shows.

⭑.ᐟ She's not overbearing like Veto might be, but believe she's keeping eye on you while in the field. Whenever on missions together she doesn't take charge, but instead makes suggestions to give you ideas as to what you two should do. She wants to get you thinking outside the box, and gets way too proud when others start complaining about how you started playing tricks like she does.

⭑.ᐟ Giving advice is what she's good at. She's experienced in a lot of things, and she's happy to give anyone advice about anything. But she's more inclined to spend more time talking about it with you, it's definitely a play of favorites.

⭑.ᐟ More than happy to order takeout for the both of you. She can't quite cook, and she doesn't want you to do so- unless you absolutely insist- so she's pulling up a local place you like and ordering whatever you want.

⭑.ᐟ Comfort isn't her specialty, surprisingly, but she tries her best for you. If you come up to her all sad as a kitten she's wrapping her arms around you and patting your back.

ᯓᡣ𐭩 She's usually up late anyways, so don't feel bad if you interrupt her work out or training when you can't sleep. She's more than happy to take a break and listen to what's keeping you up, and make suggestions on how to help. The top suggestion is always a good workout, tire out that body and all. But if you decline she'll offer other options.

Most likely you'll end up crashing in the living room, watching an old movie she likes. She's forced you to lay down on the couch as she reheats leftovers for you. When in doubt, she'll yap your ear off about the movie until you fall asleep.
