Within just a few days of resolving the electronic parking brake (EPB) actuator failure in the BMW X6, we got a Mercedes GLE with almost the same issue: strange loud noises from the rear part of the car and a persistent parking brake warning on the dash. Our diagnosis showed that the EPB actuator on the rear right of the SUV had failed, so we replaced it. Technological advancements have made our cars safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly, not to mention more comfortable. They’ve made our work easier too: diagnosis is a breeze now with the right tools. Nonetheless, we are not huge fans of EPB, mainly because of their high failure rates and replacement costs.
