2nd day: Starting off fighting snow, heading north on the PCT as the trail eventually gets to a ridge line walk. We headed up, appropriately, Big Ridge for the day's destination, then returned to Paradise Lake.

Preston: Youngs Peak

Klamath National Forest. Leaving the wilderness on the final day, but with one last stop at another peak and triple point before finishing.

Day 4 was for returning, but there was enough time for one more peak and a visit to the triple point. Water from there variously goes into the Smith River (via middle fork), the Illinois River (via east fork), and Klamath River (via Clear Creek).

Tonopah BLM. Excursion out to see a striking, but short peak followed by a tall, but not particularly striking peak. Good canyons, though.

Corey Peak

Stillwater BLM. The way to the top if you've not got a 4x4. Quite a lot of view up there.

The weather was fine for a trip up Corey Peak, high enough for a little crust of snow in places.

Eagle Peak

Great Basin National Park. A tough journey to one of the lesser seen ancient bristlecone pine groves in the park and the peak it surrounds.

The hike up to Eagle Peak was a hard one, but ancient bristlecones and grand views were good motivation to keep on going.
