I’ve been thinking about this composition for an hour
obsessed with this scene’s very deliberate, staged sexiness.... they’re sitting like that, they’re drinking, “fever” is playing (!!!!).... obviously they’re gonna hook up! this safe house looks like it was designed by a postgrad who’s trying too hard. AND YET the effect (which very easily could have been stiff and silly) is so comfortable. jennifer garner and bradley cooper are so sweet and warm with each other, and after everything in the first half of season 3 it’s such a relief to see sydney relaxed with someone she loves. it’s a very good, correct choice that this hookup is not really supposed to be hot. they’re old friends taking comfort in each other. and I really love the “we never talked about that” “I kind of like that” exchange at the end of the episode. they love each other deeply! it’s not romantic love, but there’s some romance to it. it’s also a nice release of the tension in their season 1 kisses, because nothing at this stage is awkward between them. they’re all grown up now
