DEAD FRIEND FOREVER | Ep 7
I can't be your friend with benefits anymore. Can we be a couple? I know you've been through hard times. But from now on there will be no more...
Dead Friend Forever (2023) 1x7
From "I promise I'll never lie to you..."
To "I lied to you..."
To "You found out."
Ta Nannakun as "Phi Ratthakiat Phromjinda" and Barcode Tinnasit as "Non Thanakorn Prathipsit" in Dead Friend Forever episode 7
I want to see sinister Phi so badly. I want him to be behind it all. Like I dont want him to be there because Non felt disappointed by him. I want him to be there bcause he loved so hard, and felt so deeply for Non that he wants them all to rot in hell. Give me horror slasher but also give me a romance of a lifetime, thanks.
Por Being a Static Character in DFF
DFF Gives a great look on what happens when you’re backed up against a wall. Each of the boys have different paths but they all have different perspectives on what they want and how they will get it. Note: this is not me diminishing them being lil 💩 heads!
Static Character: is a type of character who remains largely the same throughout the course of the storyline. Their environment may change, but they retain the same personality and outlook as they had at the beginning of the story.
The friend group are in retrospect a bunch of boys who all have differing lives but also expectations of who they will be. Por, for example, is a great character to use to compare class systems between he and the other members of the group.
The more I think, the more conflicting theories I come up with.
With the last episode we understand that Jin has a crush on Non, so out of jealousy he spreads the video of Non and the teacher. Or rather, he thought he wanted to do it but then it happened by mistake.
Phee approached Jin and his group of friends to get revenge on Non, so is he manipulating Jin and the others? I can't think of any other good reason why Phee would want to mix with that scum.
And if Phee is avenging Non, does that mean Non is dead? Or is he hiding somewhere? Is he in a psychiatric clinic?
Does Phee know that it was Jin who accidentally leaked the video?
What happened to the teacher who abused Non? Is he also involved in this situation? Is he in prison? Or has he gotten out of it?
Is all this a Non's revenge spree? And if so, is he doing it while he is alive or dead? Is there something supernatural or not? In the first episode we see hands appear on Phee while he is making out with Jin, ghost hands and there are other scenes that cannot be explained except by supernatural events.
Too many questions and mysteries and still too few answers, the only certainty is that "Non" is a victim and in his psychological condition any action and choice made by him is not made with clarity, he is not capable of understanding and wanting, everyone around him is taking advantage of him, abusing him, exploiting him, isolating him.
Personally I hope he is alive BUT that he is not the one taking revenge and that he is safe in hospital or elsewhere. Simply because there are already two people dead and I can't imagine a "good" ending for him if "Non" was the killer.
Assuming there's a good ending, it could very well end worse than it started - it's not a rom-com after all.
That’s very true about what you said regarding Jin. Perhaps that’s why he’s in denial about Non’s possible death and doesnt want to confront his role whether directly or indirectly in Non’s demise. Jin is going to have face that at some point.
Phee by a different token is probably carrying heavy guilt about his ‘last words? to Non and whether they were the catalyst to his death/disappearance too.
Oh absolutely to both of these.
Going off on a tangent here, but it's fascinating to me how Phee and Jin are foils to each other, shaped by their relationship with Non and romantic feelings for him.
Both try to act as Non's saviour. Both react poorly to the revelation of Non and Keng's sexual encounter, and do something highly harmful and hurtful to Non out of their own misplaced anger and hurt. Both now likely live with the guilt in the present day over what they did to Non. But while Jin is choosing to run away from Thailand to the USA - to flee his past - if Phee is indeed one of the killers, he's choosing to dig the past back up again, to get to the truth and give Non's tormenters hell to pay

"Do you trust me, Non?" he asked with earnest.
"Yes", A soft, unwavering was the reply.
"Then this time, let me take care of you"
Just the aftermath of the last ep when Phee came. (from phee's Pov)
