Non's 'Saviours'

Just a pattern that occurred to me earlier: everyone romantically/sexually interested in Non thinks they're going to be the one to save him (and gets annoyed when they're not).

First, the obvious:

Phi thinks he can solve all of Non's problems. He helped out with the fraud case to a degree (obviously it's all going to go to shit next week) and he's convinced that Non moving to his school would fix the rest of his issues. The fact that Non is reluctant to let Phi fix everything for him causes friction in their relationship. And then Phi turns vicious when he realises that Non has lied to and 'cheated' on him.

Next, this clown:

For several episodes, Jin was the only person sticking up for Non (as bad as he was at it). Episode 6 even ended with him rushing off to save Non, only to have him beaten to it by Phi. If it wasn't already, episode 7 made it very obvious that his feelings for Non were unrequited. And as soon as Jin realised that, he lashed out and hurt Non as viciously as he could.

Finally, I think this piece of shit also sees himself as Non's saviour:

While the money is obviously a grooming method, if you factor in that Keng is (apparently genuinely) trying to expose the people who put Non in this position, it seems likely that he's crafted some kind of hero narrative in his head. One where he is not a dangerous predator, but a Good Guy helping out a student. And when Non challenged this, he went ahead and made his move.

Ideally, this would all be leading to Non being the one to save himself but it's equally likely that no one could save Non. We'll just have to wait and see.

I want to see sinister Phi so badly. I want him to be behind it all. Like I dont want him to be there because Non felt disappointed by him. I want him to be there bcause he loved so hard, and felt so deeply for Non that he wants them all to rot in hell. Give me horror slasher but also give me a romance of a lifetime, thanks.
