so fun fact about me:
I'm deathly afraid of the dark. Specifically after midnight and/or I'm the last in the house to leave the main floor to go to bed.
And even more so after watching anything horror/death related.
So the first time I watched Markiplier play Five Nights at Freddy's 1 (shortly after it came out), I did not sleep well for nearly two weeks. I was terrified that they would come kill me, the animatronics. I watched Mark play all four these last two days. I can't sleep. Pair that with insomnia, and I have pandora and my phone flashlight on until I'm too tired to care rn. It's 2:30 am. Thank god I recognized my dad's footfalls just now because I'm freaking out.
I sleep in the basement. That's where my room is. The back of the basement. So I'm fucked if anything happens really.
But real talk. This fear. It's a phobia. Paired with general anxiety disorder + insomnia = not fun. After watching the Ventress/Dathomir arc of TCW I was afraid of Dooku/Palpatine coming and killing me. It depends on the media I've been using. Usually it resilts in near panic, me completely covered head to toe in my blankets as tightly as possible, hugging the shit out of my stuffed animals.
I sleep with my door locked as well, so pair that as well with suspected OCD, I literally had to tear myself away from my doorknob to stop myself checking the lock more than the near thirty times I did. This is not fun.
I don't really have a point. I just thought I'd get it out (and maybe see if anyone has advice for me or a similar experience they'd like to share ?).
