Gonna start calling it what it is, when people who wear a lot of makeup with detailed skin routines: "upper class luxury," bc it is, and while mentioning makeup rituals in feminism is important, rn ""pickme"" discourse is so bad it's not a useful critique.
I just wanna see the tiktokers squirm to defend how having $500 to spend on makeup and skincare products and 2 hours in a day to apply it is somehow NOT a luxury good and NOT something only the upper class can realistically perform, and then expect lower classes to replicate with less money and less time.
Like they supposedly hate capitalism so much (even if yes they clearly love it) how can they justify that? Is their idea of feminism separate or contradictory towards anti-capitalism? I wanna see what they have to say...
