Elytron: IT IS PRETTY GREAT TO BE ME.
Elytron: THERE ARE ACTUALLY MORE PONIES WHO ARE PART OF MY FAMILY BUT NOBODY ELSE WOULD FIT IN THE SHOT AND SOME OF THEM WERE BUSY.
((Hooooo... This took a while to get done. And it’s probably going to need some explaining. So, basically, most of these characters are from the Reading Rainbow Verse, a series of blogs that is now basically over, and also where Brainy’s fiance, Carapace, comes from.
You are all (Presumably) already familiar with Brainy herself, as well as Sunset, Sunrise, Carapace, Proto, Spike, Silver Spoon, Sparks, and, of course, Elytron, so skipping to the ones you probably -don’t- know...
From left to right we have;
Xcythe: A former soldier of Queen Chrysalis’ hive with an unhealthy obsession with zebras, Xcythe (Pronounced ‘zife’), Xcythe was essentially banished after sending the book of Queen Apocritas’ spells (Queen Apocritas being the mythical first member of the specific subspecies of changeling that make up Chrysalis’ hive) out of the hive as a birthday present to Khepri. She eventually made her way to Ponyville, where an incident with a cybernetic chainsword cost her left front leg, as well as heavily damaging her squeedly spootch (A kind of changeling super-organ). Outfitted with a cybernetic replacement, new eyes (They weren’t damaged, but she always had really poor vision and it’s hard to get glasses that correct the vision of compound eyes), and two experimental synth-wood legs (Only one leg was hurt, but she has a thing for symmetry), Xcythe is now one of Khepri’s guards. Due to a rare mutation, she takes after her father, rather than her mother. Because her father was from the subspecies Dynastinae, this means she will -never- stop growing, and could potentially become the size of house, or bigger.
(She is currently a little bigger than Big Macintosh, but I forgot and just made her the same size as him. Just pretend she has used her shapeshifting to compress herself slightly.)
Thunderbolt (‘Grumpbutt’): One of the first Wonderbolts, from before Luna became Nightmare Moon. She had a crush on Luna, and sometime after the princess of the night turned into Nightmare Moon she died and became the Shadowbolts, AKA the lamest eldritch abomination. She haunted Lightning Dust for some time before being caught and, through a complicated series of events, was eventually placed in a bio-mechanical android based off of Lightning Dust’s DNA and modeled on her appearance from when she was still alive. She is still a little resentful of the ponies who outsmarted her, and also holds a grudge against Princess Celestia, for what she did to Luna, and against Luna, for letting her die. She is not fond of her ears, and often complains of a stiffness in her new wings.
Lightning Dust: Kicked out of the Wonderbolts after the events of ‘Wonderbolts Academy’, this version of Lightning Dust has something of a rocky relationship with her mom, Spitfire. After vandalizing a book of eldritch lore by doodling in it, Lightning Dust was cursed to be haunted by the Shadowbolts, an eldritch abomination that nobody from her universe besides her could see, hear, or even read about. In practice, this pretty much just amounted to them sending her hateful messages, until they tried to turn her into one of them. She was thankfully able to defeat them with some help from Brainy. Currently dating Khepri and Forest Melody.
Khepri: A changeling Queen who was smuggled out of Queen Chrysalis’ hive, partly out of concern for what Chrysalis might have planned for her, but mostly to spite the older queen. She herself did not realize this at the time, having not undergone her second shedding (Changelings of the subspecies Apocritas shed their exoskeletons twice over their lives; once into their ‘teenage’ shell, and then again into their adult shell), she was just as surprised as anyone else when she emerged from her cocoon with the ability to look Celestia in the eyes without straining her neck. A highly capable mage, she was once named the Clan Head of Apocritas (The title formerly belonging to, and bequeathed to her by, Chrysalis. Why Chrysalis did this is anyone’s guess), but stepped down from the position not long afterwards due to her young age and inexperience with such matters. Currently dating Lightning Dust and Forest Melody.
Forest Melody (’Other Khepri): The daughter of a relatively unknown entomologist named Autumn Leaves, Forest Melody is a supermodel and aspiring musician from Ponyville. Unbeknownst to anyone (Though actually known to basically everyone), she is actually Khepri’s alter-ego, created when she first came to Ponyville in order to better blend in and hide from Chrysalis. Later on, in order to free Khepri’s schedule up a bit, a robot was created in Melody’s image that had a copy of Khepri’s mind loaded into it. Despite not needing to maintain the charade any longer, Khepri is oddly insistent in keeping it up, and constantly denies that Melody is something that she made up. Melody is currently dating Lightning Dust and Khepri (Yes, this means she is dating herself), and is under contract to Spotty Record to produce three albums, of which she has so far managed not a one.
(Note: She should actually be taller, due to a ‘growth spurt’ that happened when Khepri metamorphosed into a queen, but I forgot that until it was too late to change. Just pretend she switched out her legs or something.)
Spotty Record (’Robo Skelly’): A record producer living above a local bar in Ponyville, and possessing the uncanny ability to pull a bladed weapon out of any given pastry, Spotty Record moved away from her home in Cloudsdale in order to prove to her father, Rave Records, a successful producer in his own right, that she had what it takes to succeed on her own without any help from him. To her frustration, Rave has been 100% supportive of this effort, and does whatever he can to help out. Record has a reputation for being impulsive and dimwitted, which is exemplified in the fact that she had Brainy turn her into a full body cyborg. Although she normally has skin to cover skelebot form, her original was burned off in a fight with Xcythe, who she assaulted with her Chainsword, Sexy Ripper. In her defense, Xcythe had just made the journey to Ponyville from Chrysalis’ hive, and was near feral from starvation. She Is Lightning Dust’s cousin, and the two rarely get along. She is also currently dating Boneslut, which is bizarre given that she’s apparently asexual, and has signed on as the producer for her band, CRIMSON SPLATTERGEIST! (The all caps and exclamation mark are mandatory), whose performances she she often serves as props for.
Boneslut (’Cute Skelly’): The lead singer and founder of the band CRIMSON SPLATTERGEIST!, Boneslut’s -actual- name is Primrose Popinjay, a name she detests due to being ‘not metal enough’. Despite her name and costume (Which she is rarely seen without), Boneslut is generally considered to be a very sweet and kind mare by anyone who knows her. When not performing a concert with her band-mates Skarva (Their guitarist) and Thud (Their drummer), Boneslut enjoys taking care of flowers and helping out folks around town. She is currently in a relationship with Spotty Record, which is doubly odd not just because of their contrasting personalities, but also because the former is confirmed to be asexual.
Sexy Ripper (’Decepticon’): A brain clone of Spotty Record (literally; her brain is a genetic duplicate of Record’s, and her mind started off as a perfect copy), Sexy Ripper was once the highly enthusiastic control unit of Spotty Record’s chainsword. That changed when Record used her to assault Xcythe, a highly traumatizing event for Ripper, who wasn’t exactly prepared for what the life of a weapon actually entailed. Although Xythe survived, Ripper immediately demanded a body of her own, and was transferred into a robotic pegasus form. Currently working for Melody as a maid/butler/chauffeur/bodygaurd, Ripper possesses the ability to transform into a variety of useful shapes, including a motorcycle and jet. For quite some time after this incident, she and Record could not stand to be around one another, though they have since made up and now treat each other like sisters. She is currently in a relationship with Velvet, which is odd since, like her ‘sister’, she is asexual.
Velvet (’Kinda Mom?’): Velvet began life as copy of Carapace, magically created and given life from the changeling’s memories of her time as a teenager. After discovering that the spell animating her was of only a limited duration, Carapace transferred her into a clone of Brainy Twilight’s brain, not wanting what was basically a younger version of herself to die. The reason she was not simply transferred to a clone of Carapace's brain was because Carapace and Brainy, at the time, did not have the technological capability to sustain a changeling brain outside of its body, and could not grow a new changeling body for her for similar reasons. Although the technology now exists for her to become a changeling again, Velvet has grown used to being a pony brain and has decided against it. Adopted by the alternate Rarity and Pinkie of her native dimension, Velvet has developed a love of, and talent for, runic magic, and her current jar is based largely around a system for using it. Though her container IS capable of self levitation, Velvet much prefers to be carried from place to place, and will often complain loudly if nobody is willing to accommodate her. Currently studying to be a teacher, and working as a T.A. under Cheerilee in Ponyville, Velvet is dating Sexy Ripper, which is a little strange since Ripper is, like her sister, asexual.
43 (’Giant Sparks?’): 43 is one of the oldest children of the Technus hive, although that isn’t saying much, since her mother, Queen Technus (Who, like Khepri, is a daughter of Queen Chrysalis), only recently formed said hive. All changelings in that hive take after their mother, and hence have an albino shell and eyes. Although Technus herself is an Apocritan changeling, she is a self styled mad scientist, and is obsessed with creating a new subspecies of changeling, and because of her work with cybernetics and mutagens, most of her children have highly unusual forms, to say the least. 43, being the oldest, has fallen to the role of Technus’ second in command mostly by default. Although she is highly supportive of her mother, 43 is often exasperated by Queen Technus’ apparent lack of common sense, and almost always winds up having to clean up after and apologize for her scatterbrained mother. Like most of her sisters, 43 is a result of genetic and cybernetic experimentation. Apart from the obvious example of her spider body, her eyes are actually cybernetic implants and she has recently, with the help of Sparks (And Twilight’s supervision, though she didn’t actually do anything) replaced her brain with a computer. Although the original organ still exists, it is essentially an inert lump and she keeps it mostly for decoration. Her partnership with Sparks for her uploading procedure lead to the two of them becoming fast friends, and their friendship is quickly blossoming into a full fledged relationship.
Philly (’Wuzzo’): Although at first glance Philly appears to be the disembodied head of the famous musician Octavia Melody, the truth is far more complicated than that. Due to a traumatizing event in her foalhood, Octavia developed Philly as a protective split personality. Throughout most of her life, whenever Octavia came under exceptional stress, Philly would take control of their body to help keep Octavia safe from harm, either mental or physical. Through the efforts of SCIENCE!, however, Philly was copied (NOT transferred) into a cyber-organic duplicate of Octavia’s head, which was subsequently installed with a hover module, allowing her to float and switch places with her ‘sister’s’ head, as well as permitting her an independent existence. Eventually, the original version of Philly (Who had been suppressed within Octavia’s subconscious via cybernetics) re-merged with Octavia, creating a hybrid personality who, though she claimed she still thought of Philly as a sister, no longer needed Philly’s protection. Despondent, Philly traveled for a time, before being taken in by Brainy’s family. Though she has grown to accept that her sister no longer needs her, she still finds herself searching for a new purpose in life.
Whew. That’s a lot, huh? Anyway, these characters, as well as a bunch of others who couldn’t fit into the picture, have all officially migrated to Brainy Twilight’s universe, though they may or may not come up often.))
