But lookie-lookie who's behind the push for the symbol in conjunction with queer organizing around long covid! Act Up NY has been a proponent of covid caution since 2020, first for HIV/AIDS patients who are at high risk of death from infection, then for the shocking number of queer people affected by the lingering post-viral illness. They even host the covid-safer pride guide zine on their site! Do a little research before you freak out, please, and show this to the people clutching their pearls about "misusing" the symbol.

Robin Wears A Rainbow Ship △🛸

After being reclaimed by LGBTQ+, triangles symbolize a fight against fascism, government suppression, and homophobia. "The triangle – now right side up – serves as a reminder that we cannot allow history to repeat itself. It was prominently used in the 1980s by Act Up Activists as a symbol for their campaign fighting for better treatment of AIDS patients" (source). The triangle is the beam of the spaceship, where later a gay ship comes into focus via Will's "rainbow ship." She's repping the gay ship, and the saving beam of light is queer love and gay rights.

Whenever I hear Pink Triangle, I think of Cody being sad over Gwen and Courtney being in love. Also thought it was smart to post this on lesbian visibility day!! And I haven't posted on here in... awhile.
