New leaves on some big Philo's! My Billietiae has its first leaf opening since I got it! I heard these plants are slow growers so I was not expecting to see it open up so soon. I'm super excited to see this girl grow! Before you think it has Aphids, it doesn't. Some Philo's produce a lot of sap if they are healthy in order to deter pests in their natural environment. Trust me, I was freaking out at first but after multiple thorough inspections as well as research, that is the answer I have!
My PPP shot out another all pink leaf! Very exciting but also not. This one I may end up cutting off if it just doesn't open up nicely. I haven't been keeping up with watering her enough, so some browning has started. That is entirely my own fault, not that of the plant 's. With that in mind, I'll need to keep up on it even more with more variegation. I've read a good ratio is 70% green, 30% variegation. Not sure where this new leaf would put her, but it's a bittersweet thing right now. I sort of just wanted another HUGE leaf like the one before it. But I'm proud of her!!
