DannyMay 2026 Day 9: Space

Okay sleep’s put off for one more minute so I can post this brainworm that I got from @lenacraft based on what she added to my other post

Okay so let’s say that Valerie and Danny still breakup because Valerie’s worried about her ghost hunting putting a target on Danny’s back (which I always forget is the reason they broke up because?? what???)

Now let’s say that, for that to at least make some kind of sense, Valerie doesn’t know about his parents being ghost hunters, which could kinda make sense as for the longest time, the Fenton’s were known for just trying to prove that ghosts existed, so as far as she knows, they’re still just scientists obsessed with ghosts, maybe she even assumes that they’re more on the ghosts’ side because they’ve always been obsessed with them

So let’s say this fact comes out when his parents force him to start a little ghost hunting club, and now Valerie has all these emotions: surprise, concern for Danny that apparently he’s always had that target on his back and always will because of his parents (doesn’t even know the half of it), some resentment at students excitedly joining this club and looking up to Danny as some ghost hunting expert when she’s the ghost hunter, etc, and overall just feeling really, really…lonely

And then she finds out from all the other kids that Danny actually is known to hold his own against ghosts, at least from that one time they saw with the Pirate Radio incident (which, as Lena points out, Valerie was absent from, even tho that could’ve been a great time for her to shine, but I digress), and maybe he even does a great job with the club before it gets shut down for whatever reason

(And you could probably even really heap on the angst if all her old friends are acting friendly with the trio but still aren’t acknowledging her for whatever reason)

This brainworm is just leading to other brainworms now about the fallout of this made up episode, such as:

Scenario 1: A ghost attacking the school and in spite of all the students’ prep in the ghost club, it’s still Valerie who fights it off because she has experience, leading her to get some status back, but maybe instead of immediately accepting her friends back, she makes them work for her forgiveness (as she should)

(Maybe something stopped the trio from joining the fight and that’s what causes the club to breakup as everyone loses faith in them, setting everything back to normal, except…Valerie is suspicious now)

Scenario 2: The “episode” ends with Valerie still feeling super lonely, leading her more into whatever evil scheme Vlad has cooking, but at the same time, cracks start appearing about if her understanding of everything is correct and if isolating herself really is the best path to go, comes to her own realization that Vlad is using her and just obliterates him

(I forget if Vlad was in her ear in canon trying to convince her that she was putting Danny in trouble by being close to him, if he wasn’t he definitely should’ve been as that would also have made their breakup make a bit more sense)

Scenario 3: Investigates Danny’s competency in fighting ghosts that somehow never came up during their relationship, finds out he’s Phantom, joins their ghost hunting team

And there’s probably ton more scenarios but I really should be trying to sleep
