Infernal Dash I'm still so pleased with how this boss ability turned out. I'm also glad it was liked enough that it turned into his passive.

I haven't posted any progress on my mouse here so it's time to fix it.
I would say that the project is half done. I managed to complete the modeling and rigging of the majority of assets and I even animated it and made a test render which you can check above. I am pretty happy with the result but there is still plenty of work ahead. Currently, I am working on polishing the animation and adding details. To be honest, I very rarely touch this project now, this year is too unstable and I have to move in/out a lot and this distracts me from art. But I still intend to finish the mouse animation as soon as possible.
I also would like to mention the reason why I started this animation. I had been a little lost in my art direction for several years, I liked drawing but 3d was definitely my passion too and I didn't know where to focus my energy. So, the main goal of this work was to work out which stages of work I liked the most so that I could concentrate on them more. I have already made plenty of helpful conclusions. For example, I have realized I definitely don't like retoping and rendering, but really like sculpting, concepting, and animating.
If you feel lost too, instead of trying to guess what you like I highly recommend going through the process and watching how you feel about that. It definitely helps to narrow your focus.
This is one of my first 3D animations.
It really changes from 2D animation, but I suppose that I’ll get used to it with some practice !
Animation WIP Playblasts - First Pass [Maya]
I put together all the rough playblasts I was working on for my short film "Seillean". After some feedback from my animation tutor Brendan Body, I scrapped, changed camera angles, created new and refined some animations to an acceptable standard which can be seen in my final film!
Slow Octo Run
Heya all! So i decided to remake the landing gear from scrap to fit inside the ship! Now it got really compact and functional! Woot! Have a gr8 evening! #wip #maya #playblast #animation #3dengineering #concept #conceptdesign #gamedev #work #3d #improve #reel #portifolio
Testrender from the fifth schot with some lights and the water plane. Toonshader gets easily noisy when using applied textures instead of just flat colours. I have had to balance the shaders base colour tonemaps out a bit too to mach the environment. The animation in the playblast uses the previous cycle as a base but I have animated the movement to turn and glide over the camera to the next scene.
It will look better with motion blur (which is a surprisingly big deal) and a few of the transitions and moving holds are still too rough. But progress, I think.
