But in the meantime, want to bring attention to the fact that there's a general strike happening today. ICE raids have been rampant and innocent people are being harmed, detained and even killed. If you are able, please call your reps, protest, donate to mutual aid, protect your neighbors and organize! Also hit them where it hurts and avoid spending money at all today unless absolutely necessary.

The Unseeing Herald

Howdy! It's been a hot minute since I've showcased some of my work here, and I figured: why not show more weird little guys? I talked about this guy briefly at Tennocon 2025, and after the infested boyband, he was admittedly a bit of a breath of fresh air. I had made a comment at Tennocon that I unwittingly ended up animating all the floating guys, but i lost my train of thought (STREAMS ARE SCARY). I meant to talk about how I loved creating the way I animate their deaths, which is to let them fall apart.

A bus may have only a couple of passengers, especially at the beginning or end of its route. But let's also take fuel efficiency into account.

I read a study once on the fuel efficiency of various types of commuter vehicles (car, bus, train) on a per person basis and the number of people needed riding public transit to match the "efficiency" of cars is shockingly low. A bus needs to carry like 3-4 people to be fuel efficient, and trains require 2-3 per train car. Both often carry two dozen or more during peak hours, more than justifying any perceived requirements for efficiency for the train or bus to provide service the entire day.

Swordtember 2025: Part 1

It's that time of year again, where for funsies I make wacky little weapons based on the prompt list by Faith Schaffer. This is year 5, and I always give myself some rules: 1. Don't think too hard about the prompt until the day of the prompt. 2. Max 2 hours should be spent on these, I have a day job. These are inherently imperfect and some are just not going to turn out as good. 3. It's just for fun. I have only finished 2 out of the 4 years of swordtembers since I started in 2020, and that's okay! 4. Give that sword a story.

Day 1: Shell Pearlescent. Made from a great mollusk, thick with mother of pearl.

Day 2: Moss It had fallen into a fairy ring, and after that, whatever it cut would bloom with new plant life. Naturally, they stopped using it in combat because the results were… hard to watch.

Day 3: Automaton A beautiful piece of technology built to replicate the greatest of swordsmen for combat training. Alas, unlike a human teacher, it lacked the concept of restraint.

Day 4: Scale Scales of Justice weigh your deeds— or so they claim. There’s whispers that where the scales are impartial, the Justicar is not. All it takes is a subtle shift of the grip. One can only hope he acts with benevolence.

Day 5: Bell. She had grown tired of losing members of her flock, and chose to take matters into her own hands. Soon the sound of the bell alone was enough most of the time.
