Kitchen progress
Yesterday afternoon, I suddenly had the urge to make progress on the Young Sweethearts' kitchen. The refrigerator and under-sink cabinet now have gloss white backs, and the cabinets over the sink and stove have a coordinating print. (The dishwasher cabinet is not shown because I only did the bottom part in white.)
Then I ran out of steam, as I don't entirely like my options for a backsplash, but I'm also not excited about shopping for something new.
Having a kitchen with generous storage space finally raises the question of which kitchen gear I genuinely like, versus things kept out of (a) nostalgia; (b) least disliked thing from Mom's stash; (c) Mom gave it to me; (d) I felt clever for buying it. It hadn't viscerally hit me that if the goal is to accessorize one (1) Barbie-sized abode, at some point, the stash should approach zero.
I put that thought aside for another day, along with the question of how to accessorize the pink shelving unit now. It wants to stay because it turns out to match the kitchen brilliantly, but this layout isn't the optimal one. (The white bench left to be a seat in the main doll cabinet; the green chest went back in the stash temporarily.)
