take 2.
you cannot heal your soul
if you continue denying the pain in your heart
i hope you find the courage to face the cold of your past
and offer your wounds the warmth of healing.

Form 6 is pretty complex - it’s a Welsh form called an Awdl Gywydd. Four line stanzas with seven syllables per line; the first line must rhyme with the third syllable of the second line, and the third line must rhyme with the fifth syllable of the fourth line. Additionally, lines two and four must rhyme at the end. I call this one Rat Killer, based on a recent conversation. I know it’s a bit silly, but damn, I’m proud of myself for writing in such a complicated form.
And just like that, I’m done with all the “A” forms in the challenge! Excited to move onto the B’s!
I've loved girls like seasons change, compared each love to a passing time. Winter broke me hard, iced my heart over. Spring arrived all melting and tentative fingers and softness. God knows, I had my summer- burning bright and all too quickly. But here is crispness, chapped lips, and forest fire in the pit of my stomach. I never fell for fall until now. Feel star trails swarm my brain and they say this season is where everything dies but what if it's really about rebirth?
I think I found my autumn
does anyone know any poetry network that's open to applications? i've been searching since last year & i still can't find one hhhh
l’appel du vide
It’s a strangling choking feeling - the void.
I feel the tentacles curl around my throat
As the deep
reaches
out to me. Whispers fill
my ears at each opportunity:
Jump off the bridge.
Swerve the steering wheel.
I feel the call of the void - intellectual musings resulting in self destruction.
I bite the apple, craving the knowledge or the magic or the superiority.
God shakes his head and
I sin,
I sin,
I sin.

This night is honey jewelled, dripping nectar; come cane sugar bury me under star light. We are caffeine dizzy, spinning in neon glow, lit up by signs proclaiming sex for sale and we circle one another waiting for the music to begin. The angels turn their heads to us as we dance, all gem toned skin and crystallised- a mosquito caught in amber. Oh and we ache and we ache.
Prompt “the angels turn their heads” from @newagedespairnetwork week 10
He wished upon a star.
That one day,
He could inspire,
And help people light that fire.
Until then,
He'll just keep working.
He knows in the end,
It'll all be worth it.
