This was requested by an anon. I hope you like it.
Your contract was down to its final week, and the decision weighed heavier every day. For three years you had played for the London City Lionesses, first on loan from Man United before they sold you. You never really liked the club. But it had led you to Alessia and Niamh, both of whom also were based in London.
Nobody knew the two had been dating for a while. Nobody knew that you had joined the relationship two years ago. They were the ones you loved. And now your contract was up, rumours swirled in the media, teammates asked nonstop, and at home… Well, at home it was even worse. Because your two girlfriends had turned into full-time recruiters.
Niamh slipped Chelsea blue into every outfit she wore around you, her sly grin giving her away whenever she made a little comment.
“You’d light up Stamford Bridge, babe. I can already see it.” and
“You and me, bombing down the wing? Unstoppable.”
Alessia was no less relentless, though her style was softer, more persuasive. She was gentler about it, but that was just her.
“Arsenal’s the right fit for you, I just know it,” she’d whisper when she had you curled up in her lap. Her hands were playing with your hair to keep you calm and relaxed.
“Picture us scoring together at the Emirates. The crowd roaring. Us celebrating. Wouldn’t that feel perfect?”
The truth was, it would feel perfect. Both of them painted dreams you could see yourself in, and that was exactly the problem, you couldn’t choose. Choosing one meant letting the other down, and that was the last thing you could bear. You knew if you chose Chelsea Alessia would be upset, even she wouldn't tell you. She'd feel like you've chosen Niamh over her… and if you chose Arsenal? Well Niamh would definitely tell you she was upset. She wasn't good with keeping her emotions in check.
So, one quiet evening, the three of you tangled together on the couch, you finally took a deep breath and said. “I’ve made my decision.” Both their heads whipped towards you instantly, eyes wide, hopeful, terrified.
“I’m signing for… Manchester City.”
Silence. Then, in perfect unison both girls almost scream. “City?!”
You couldn’t stop the nervous laugh bubbling out. “I couldn’t choose between you without breaking my own heart. So I chose neither. I chose the third option. Somewhere that isn’t red or blue. Alessia or Niamh.”
For a long second, they both just stared. Then Alessia collapsed into laughter, burying her face in your shoulder. Niamh shook her head, though the smile tugging at her lips betrayed her. Alessia pulled you closer and Niamh immediately moved closer to the two of you as well. Your legs were all entangled as you laid there.
“You’re actually unbelievable.” Niamh said, but she kissed your cheek anyway.
“She’s brilliant.” Alessia countered, lifting her head to press a quick kiss to your lips. “She found the only way to keep both of us happy.”
Relief washed over you and you looked between the two girls you loved so much with wide eyes. Hopeful that they were okay with your decision and wouldn't make you regret it. “So… you’re okay with it?”
“Of course.” Niamh murmured, curling into your side, arms slipping around Alessia's waist to pull both of you closer to her. She was just possessive sometimes. “I just want you both to be happy. If City’s what you want, then I’m proud of you.” She sealed the words with a lingering kiss at your temple.
Alessia who was still curled into your other side, sliding her arms around you too. “Exactly. I don’t care what colour kit you wear, as long as I still get to come home to you and Niamh. I love you two too much to lose you to something so silly.” She kissed your forehead, then your cheek, then finally your lips again, soft, tender, full of love. Niamh immediately buffed and kissed you gently and then Alessia. Like she wanted to claim you for her as well.
Your chest tightened as you hugged them both close, pulling them fully into your lap until the three of you were a messy tangle of limbs and laughter. They showered you with kisses, cheeks, jaw, neck, lips, until you were giggling helplessly, your heart swelling so full it felt like it might burst. It felt so good. Your girls are finally not fighting anymore about which team you should join. Just happy to hold you and each other. The stupid rivalry buried till the next London Derby… you still were scared from the last where the two hadn't spoken for three days and you had broken down begging them to leave it on the pitch. You could just hope this next season would be easier on the three of you.
“Sky blue never looked so good.” Niamh whispered against your ear, smiling.
“Doesn’t matter what colour.” Alessia added softly, brushing her lips over yours once more. “You’ll always be ours.”
And as you sat there, cocooned in their warmth, kissed breathless and held impossibly close, you knew it didn’t matter what the headlines said tomorrow. You’d made your choice and no matter where you played, love had already given you your biggest win.
“But don't go and score against us.” Niamh said grinning and nudged your side lovingly. You giggled not taking her seriously. Alessia grinned and said. “Just score against Chelsea. I'd be so proud to say my girlfriend scored against Chelsea.”
Niamh immediately huffed and pouted till Alessia kissed the pouty lips and you leaned back into her.
“We'll give it our all if we play against each other but once the game is over that's where the rivalry stays.” You mumbled quietly. “Promise?”
The two girls nod immediately and murmured sweet promises to each other and to you. You all were just so happy. To have each other and be able to love each other.
