“Hey!” Tommy answers, bright and chipper. “Didn’t expect to hear from you so soon. How’s the shift going?”
“Tommy…” Eddie gasps. Even though it’s only one word, he can hear how wretched his voice sounds.
There’s a sharp inhale on the other end of the line. All the cheer is gone from Tommy’s voice when he asks, “What happened?”
Eddie takes a breath, forcing himself to choke down the lump in his throat and speak clearly. “You need to come to First Presbyterian. Buck’s been in an accident.”
BTHB: hospital stay
Okay polyfire idea but it's just a tiny one, so maybe take this more as a prompt for now, pulls out prompt notecard.
A broken-up Buck and Tommy find themselves at the same New Year's Party at Eddie's place. As the countdown commences, both seem to be wondering if the other will kiss them after "1", but twist! A drunk Eddie comes over and smooches Tommy. Eddie rolls his eyes when he sees Buck looking so stunned and says, "Yes. You can have one too" and kisses him as well before walking away. Buck and Tommy decide two things: 1) They're getting back together and 2) they need to start dating Eddie too.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Hello hello hello! Welcome to a fun short little installment! Fun fact I had this idea before I got my assignment for the fic exchange so, clearly I had a particular kink on the brain, ha ha. What can I say, I think of a kink that explores something psychological about a character, I run with it until it’s in the ground.
It took me an entire week to write this entry even though it’s only 4k, I’m sure the fact that I just wrote 128k + 12k in the span of about four weeks has nothing to do with that. *sounds of brain sizzling and smoking*
I am working on the BuddieTommy Sugar Baby AU but please note I have been trying to work on my final Xedgin fic for about a year now. I was hoping to get it posted around the time of the film’s one year anniversary but my life exploded from March-June so that didn’t really work out. So there might be a bit of a wait while I focus on that. Thanks dears. ❤️
Title: Both Bermuda and Golden (Lost but Doing Just Fine)
Rating: E
Pairing: Buck/Eddie/Tommy and variations thereupon
Chapters: 11/12
Chapter Summary: When Buck wants to do a scene that’s a bit of a squick for Eddie, it’s time to call in the cavalry.
I didn't know which of my current two main projects I wanted to share anything new on. The Polyfire project won out!
In this little excerpt, later in the fic, Eddie's decided it's time to take things to the next step with Tommy.
I hope you all enjoy!!
===== You're The Two =====
Eddie’s keys slid at the lock, electric nerves resulting in three false starts before success. He didn’t know why he was so nervous. That wasn’t true. This was new territory. Ever since he said those four words earlier, the butterflies in his stomach had upgraded to full on helicopters, each of them buzzing around at max speed.
He clattered his keys in the bowl next to the door, head cocking as the sound of the TV warmed the room. He hadn’t left it on when he’d left for his date.
“Buck?”
A hand shot up from the couch, first two fingers and thumb raised in greeting. Eddie’s eyes narrowed as they slid over the ends of too long of legs angled awkwardly over the arm.
“I thought you were working. I didn’t see the jeep outside.”
Buck grabbed the back and pulled his head into view. He was mussed, like Eddie had just woken him from a nap. A low crinkle of warmth settled in the pit of Eddie’s stomach at the sight, warring for space with the helicopters that were still performing combat maneuvers.
“I parked out back. Gerrard sent me home. Apparently I’ve got to ‘learn manners’ or something.”
Eddie walked up, fingers tracing the top of the couch. “For how long?”
“Just the shift. Enough about that though. How did the date go?”
Eddie swallowed, lips pressed into a line. Flashes of Tommy’s hands on him against the outside of the arena revved the choppers into overdrive, and he could still feel the heat of the other man’s lips on his neck. “The fight… was good. Dinner was… light. Short even.”
Buck’s eyes narrowed as he scrutinized Eddie’s expression. “What aren’t you saying?”
Eddie’s own eyes shifted with the small shake of his head. “I don’t know what you—”
The low, recognizable sound of Tommy’s engine rumbled from the driveway. Buck looked toward the curtained window before slowly focusing on Eddie. “Eddie…”
How did one operate with all of the blood in their face. “You were supposed to be at work, Buck!”
“Wait…” Buck drew the single syllable long, a bright, teasing smile blooming over his features. “Were you two? Is this the first time?”
The heat in Eddie’s face didn’t dissipate. If anything, it flared hotter as he heard the truck door shut. “Yes and yes,” he hissed quietly.
Buck’s Cheshire smile consumed his entire face. “You’re so nervous. It’s cute.”

After their shift ended today, Buck and Eddie headed over to Tommy’s, like they’d been planning for a few days. Evidently, Eddie and Tommy had been planning something else behind his back. As soon as they walked in Tommy’s front door, Eddie steered Buck into the living room where Tommy was waiting for them, sitting on the couch in a pair of sweatpants and that damn red tank top. Buck’s dick perked up at the sight, and then he’d noticed the towel laid out at Tommy’s feet.
Thank you, friend! This is sort of light on the secret dating aspect, but I hope you enjoy 💜
It’s laundry day when Eddie finally notices.
He’s just finished putting the last load into the washing machine, and now he knows for sure — he’s missing his favourite shirt. It’s nothing special, just a brown flannel button up that he likes to wear on casual days. He’d assumed it was in the bottom of his dirty laundry pile, but now that he’s finally sorted his laundry into several loads, he knows for sure that it’s missing.
He starts the next cycle on the washer, then wanders out into the hallway. “Babe?” he calls.
Tommy pokes his head out of the kitchen. “Yeah?”
“I didn’t leave that brown flannel shirt of mine at your place, did I?”
Tommy’s brow furrows as he thinks. It’s so cute that Eddie has to restrain himself from reaching out to touch. “I don’t think so. But now that you mention it, I’m missing my favourite pair of joggers.”
Eddie suddenly has a sneaking suspicion that he knows where their clothes have disappeared to. He’s proven right a few minutes later when Buck bustles in the front door, loaded up with pastries from his and Maddie’s coffee catch-up, and wearing a very familiar flannel shirt and black joggers.
Eddie and Tommy share a look as Buck unloads his spoils onto the kitchen counter. Once he’s done, he turns around, an expectant look on his face as he opens his arms.
With a chuckle, Tommy steps forward to give Buck a quick kiss. Eddie joins him at Buck’s side, kissing him on the cheek — and subtly boxing him up against the kitchen counter.
“Did you have a good time with Maddie?” Tommy asks.
“Yeah,” Buck says, grinning. “We haven’t had a chance to sit down together just the two of us since Robert… uh… what are you …?”
Eddie, who has been slowly easing his hand under Buck’s — his — shirt, leans in close to ghost his breath over Buck’s ear. “Nice shirt. Can’t help but notice it looks an awful lot like one I’m missing.”
“Oh.” Buck’s face is getting red. “I might have, ah, borrowed it…”
Tommy’s fingers find the drawstring on Buck’s pants. “And did you also borrow my joggers?”
“Well,” Buck says, spreading his legs a little as he leans back against the counter, “you guys were having your cute domestic date at home. I wanted to take a piece of you both with me.”
Eddie bites down on Buck’s ear to hide his besotted grin. They’re still figuring out the dynamic between the three of them, and keeping things private for now. It’s sweet that Buck wanted to feel close to them while he was out with his sister — but Eddie knows for a fact that his shirt has been AWOL for a couple weeks.
“That’s cute, Evan,” Tommy says, slipping his hand into Buck’s joggers. “But you’re back with us now, so I think Eddie and I will take our clothes back.”
Buck’s eyes go dark and hazy.
Later, once they’re all naked and sweaty and sated, Eddie pretends not to notice Buck squirrelling away the same shirt and pants to abscond with them again. Eddie’s happy enough to sacrifice a beloved shirt if it means he gets the chance to strip Buck out of it.
He makes a mental note to find that red tank top of Tommy’s the next time he’s at Tommy’s house.

CONTENT WARNING: consensual non-consent, rape fantasy, restraints
Sandwiched between Eddie and Tommy, Buck drifts, basking in the glow of another incredible orgasm. He loves it when his boyfriends take the reins and really test his limits. There’s always a safety net – the knowledge that with a word or three snaps of his fingers everything would instantly stop – but not for the first time he wonders what it would be like to pretend that safeguard isn’t an option.
Or: Buck, Eddie & Tommy try a new roleplay scenario in the bedroom.
Okay, pulls out pitch notecards, a bit of a messy Break-up BuckTommy, EddieTommy turns into Polyfire fic idea.
Buck and Tommy break up. And Tommy, distraught, becomes insular.
He closes off to everyone.
BUT!
Eddie makes his way to Tommy's place a week after.
Because.
He knows that Tommy, much like Buck, can be an idiot sometimes. He's just a different kind of idiot. And Eddie gets it - he retreats into himself too sometimes. Plus, he's Buck's best friend, so he gets the radio silence.
But he's also Tommy's friend too! So, Eddie wants to check up on Tommy.
Tommy and Eddie have a few beers at Tommy's house when Eddie convinces Tommy that it's really okay to talk about the break up with Eddie.
And.
They get to talking about Tommy's insecurities, his past relationships, his fears. They get to talking about Eddie's own problems too.
And it evolves into this talk about their feelings, their core problems, their wants, their dreams, and maybe a little drunkenly, they fall into a moment.
A kiss.
From Eddie.
That becomes another kiss.
And another.
And soon, they find themselves tangled in Tommy's bed, catching their breath, the deed done.
And Tommy feels like he should regret it.
He really feels like he should.
He wants to get back with Evan.
This should feel like a betrayal, right?
But it somehow doesn't.
And it doesn't even seem like a problem to say out loud that he still wants to be with Evan. And Eddie, surprisingly so, asks, "Well. What's our plan for getting Buck back? You should probably text him. You're the one who broke up with him. Ball's in your court. Text the man before a flour shortage happens in LA."
Which feels right.
So right.
Their plan.
So.
Tommy and Eddie start to come up with their plan to get Tommy back together with Evan Buckley, with Eddie part of the relationship now, possibly some questions asked.
