i dont really use this blog anymore but to like stuff, but im reaching out for input from the chronically ill/spoonie community. about two weeks ago i got sick with some respiratory bug (not covid or flu) but after a week of being sick i woke up with every joint in my body dying. went to the doctor and they flu tested me and it was negative, and they said i was "good to work" since i wasnt running a fever. go back in the next day for a work note (since i cant use my hands really), and a different doctor sees me. says i have a sinus infection and sends me home. a week later and im barely able to move without being on max pain meds and sleeping whenever im not at work/school.
i was finally able to get into my primary doctor, who ran 7 blood tests. he said there was definitely something wrong, and was asking about my fam history with autoimmune diseases. also told me that if my work came back wonky id need 8 more blood tests. overall tired but nice to actually have my pain validated. he also gave me some better anti-inflammatory meds which means i was able to lift my arms up for the first time in a week.
best guess though so far is polymyalgia triggered by whatever respiratory illness i got. looking back though a lot of my health issues have revolved around inflammation issues (fatigue issues, costochronditis, ibs) so who knows.
