Given my family history and the stories I grew up with, as a child I developed a morbid curiosity about the Holocaust because there were so many elements I could not wrap my head around. I desperately wanted to understand why it happened. How it happened. How to make sure it never happened again.
As an adult it made me dedicate myself to antifascism, both in and out of the legal arena. I studied white supremacy, became extremely focused on the slow-bubbling efficiency of modern day nazis, and partnered myself with analysts, lawyers, theorists, infiltrators, and researchers in an effort to REALLY understand and hinder this growing movement.
And I keep seeing the parallels between zionists with antisemitism, and radfems with misogyny.
Because antisemitism and misogyny are both so heavily ignored and chalked up to conspiracy, a portion of the affected populations have decided on a course of isolation and violence in a misguided and vengeful attempt at “safety.”
It is endlessly irritating and fascinating that zionists and neo radfems on this site are at one another’s throats when they both represent a failure on their own part to resist reactionary routes and a failure on everyone else’s part to recognize when they enable the isolationism.
“No one besides us knows what its like to experience x, the only hope for safety is a utopia made up of only us ys, anyone who criticizes me is an infiltrator spy” is a supremely fucked up worldview, but it is inevitably enabled by how much the outgroup downplays and ignores and rolls their eyes at the violence and risk AND how “allies” often hype up the risk.
What I mean is that some of the most prominent zionists on this site have been targets of some exceptionally violent antisemitism and it makes them justify their reactionary response when people suggest they are liars about it, while on the other hand, a considerable amount of converts and “allies” do nothing else but speak about Jewish fear and misery and create this feedback loop where there is nothing BUT danger and distrust.
Similarly, there is such an exceptional amount of misogyny leveraged societally and interpersonally against cis women and trans people in various amounts of severity, and there is nonstop discourse about whether people have “actually” experienced what they claim. There is splintering and binarism and so much anger divvying up everyone into hostile groups.
And it makes SENSE. You are faced with physical and sexual and workplace and job and healthcare and relationship violence and then some jackoff has the audacity to say no you didn’t. And similarly to zionists you have white knights who enable the idea that you are always at risk, always vulnerable to attack, and zionists and radfems alike then align themselves with actual perpetrators of their misery in the misguided belief that they will offer protection from the “real” or “bigger” threat.
It’s asinine! But also follows the pattern easily.
It is the duty of everyone to understand the oppressive struggles you are attempting to fight. You cannot counter an enemy you do not know! It is also everyone’s duty to not create enemies where there is none. The fight for liberation is an interconnected struggle, and not a lone wolf battle.
We cannot challenge oppression by becoming reactionaries, and we cannot fight zionists and radfems without understanding that they are a maladjusted response to the thing you are supposed to be fighting. They will continue to pop up at such a rapid pace so long as we do not understand them and do not understand what made them.
