Congratulations on your follower milestone!! You are amazing! Could I have #64 on the sentence starter list for Sherlolly? Thanks very much.
So I know this was supposed to be used for a different series, but I finally got inspired and decided to toss it into @posterofamyth‘s new series. So just realize that Sherlock and Molly have traveled through time and are in an alternate universe (the Star Trek: AOS universe) and are working on the Enterprise and have been there for a little bit by the time this fic takes place.
Keeping Boredom At Bay (A “Universes Collide” Story) -Sherlock assures Molly that even with the change in location and time, he will never be bored as long as she's there.
Read @ AO3 | Series Page | Buy Me A Coffee?
“Donovan, go away!”
Sherlock looked up from the area the two of them had set up for communal science experiments in their quarters to see Molly storm into his quarters. “Donovan isn’t here,” he said before turning back and putting some of the strange coloured liquid on a slide. Supposedly it was nonlethal, according to Donovan, but he had been curious as to see whether there were some exotic microorganisms at the root of it or alien chemicals. He had his own work to do that was actually assigned but this was more interesting.
“Good,” she grumbled, beginning to pace. He kept an eye on the injuries he knew she was still recovering from, just in case she pushed herself too far. “I am fully capable of conducting my duties on board this ship, even with my injuries.”
“Broken wrist was the least of them,” Sherlock noted. He didn’t like thinking about the injuries. He’d been half-tempted to join in on the mission to the Klingon ship, but when he was told he couldn’t take his gun because they didn’t want an “incident” he scoffed. It was Nurse Chapel who convinced him staying with Molly was best.
She glared at him. “Yes, I am aware of that,” she said through gritted teeth.
He knew from that tone of voice it wouldn’t be long until Molly’s hostile tendencies would become physical. They didn’t come up often, but he could read her better than anyone on the Enterprise, even though she had been on board for some time before his arrival. He abandoned the experiment. “I’ll challenge him to a duel. Fencing. Then when I win he can relent and let you back to your duties.”
Molly stared at him for a moment. “No, Sherlock.”
“I insist. Hold me back.” He moved towards her and stood close.
“Could I just hold you instead?” she asked.
“Or I could hold you,” he countered before wrapping his arms around her. He felt her sigh contentedly as she proceeded to hug him back, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I know you are bored. Boredom is a deadly disease on this ship. It could drive anyone to drink, or worse.”
“You aren’t bored?” she asked, lifting her head up.
“I find my own amusements. Not cases, but experiments. And there’s you.” He moved a hand away to brush her hair out of her face. “I will never be bored as long as you’re here.”
“Good,” she said. “I don’t think I want to go back to how it was before you arrived. I had missed you so very much.”
“Did you think of me often?” he asked.
“More often than I think you would think of me,” she said.
“Molly, I have thought of you constantly since the events at Sherrinford,” he said with a frown. “Even before I was brought here I was thinking of you. At home, we never got the chance to talk, and here, with you knowing all sides of the story and forgiving me so easily, it was easy for my thoughts to turn to...other matters involving you.”
She leaned in and pressed a kiss to his pulse point, and he shut his eyes. “Any thoughts you would like to share since I’m supposed to take time to get better? Because I would generally rather be occupied than bored.”
“I can keep you more than occupied,” he said.
“Oh, can you, Mr. Shag-A-Lot Sherlock?” she asked, looking up at him again with a wholly heated look in her eyes.
“We should warn Donovan he shouldn’t come back here tonight,” Sherlock murmured.
“To hell with your roommate,” Molly said with a smile before kissing him. It took mere seconds for him to clutch her close and begin taking off the damnable uniform she was wearing. As long as Molly was on board the Enterprise with him, he had no doubt that she would be all he ever needed to keep his sanity on this ship...and all he ever wanted, too.
For the writing meme: POV, please
OMG, I totally didn’t realize you had sent this! ::facepalm:: Umm…well, I’m PLANNING to write a fic in one of my series with a ship for @posterofamyth (James Kirk/Rose Hathaway) as my next project, so let me grab one of the little Kiss Meme fic snippets and I’ll post the original and the rewrite.
ORIGINAL
“That’s such corny old-fashioned shit!” she said, shaking her head
He shook his head, grinning as he raised an eyebrow. “You mean to tell me you wouldn’t be flattered if some guy kissed the back of your hand?” he asked.
“Maybe,” she said with a shrug. “Depends on the guy, I guess.” He didn’t even think about it. He stood up, reached over and grabbed her hand, caressing it gently, and brought it up to his lips before kissing it. She looked at him for a moment with wide eyes, and then she cracked up. “God, you really are Prince Charming.”
“Hey, it’s a sign of respect and admiration!” he said with a grin.
“So you respect me?” she asked.
“Yeah,” he said, nodding. “Course I do.”
“Even when I kick your ass?”
He nodded. “Even so.”
“Good.” She gave him a grin. “Time to go kick your ass again.”
REWRITE
They were friends.
She didn’t give two shits about what everyone else in Lawrence thought of him; he was a flirt, yeah, but so was she. But there was a time and a place for it, and there was a way he’d flirt where you’d know where you stood with him, whether he was just being flirty to be flirty or whether he was trying to get in your pants. And she always fell on the “flirty to be flirty” side of things, which was good, because…well, Dimitri.
But she wasn’t about to ask Jim to stop being such a charming, albeit corny (oh so corny) guy and not flirt with her. Just as long as he knew where they stood. He could be the good kind of Prince Charming all he wanted, but they were just friends.
Take the conversation tonight, as they were taking a break at the gym and sitting close, water bottles in hand and just talking. He was going on about typical corny Prince Charmingy-stuff. Hand kissing. Who in the hell wants their hand kissed?
“That’s such corny old-fashioned shit!” she said, shaking her head and waving her hand at him. Almost like a challenge.
“You mean to tell me you wouldn’t be flattered if some guy kissed the back of your hand?” he asked, and she could see a gleam. She knew that gleam. It meant challenge accepted.
Well, two could play this game. He was quick; she was quicker.
“Maybe,” she said with a shrug. “Depends on the guy, I guess.” And she went to pull her hand back but for once the farmboy from Iowa surprised her with a burst of speed, grabbing her hand and planting a very gentle kiss above her knuckles. She stared at him with wide eyes, not comprehending things except HOLY SHIT, JAMES KIRK WAS KISSING HER HAND.
Smooth. And…weird. But in a good way?
Oh, so good.
And then it hit her:
Shit.
She could seriously fall for this guy.

“Shut up and kiss me already.” Kirkrose por favor
And here is your long awaited for Kirkrose fic, m’dear! Hope you enjoy.
The Best Way To Make A Suggestion (A “Stuff Of Improbable Legends” Story) -Rose is not in the best of moods when her husband says he has an idea, but by the time he's done she's surprisingly considering it.
Read @ AO3 | Series Page | Send Me A Prompt | Buy Me A Coffee?
“Hey Rose. I had a thought.”
Rose finished applying the make-up remover to her face and glanced over at her husband. He looked like a really eager puppy dog, which was usually quite endearing but right now was annoying. Damn pregnancy hormones. “Jim, am I going to like this idea?”
“You like most of my ideas,” he said, coming up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. She wasn’t showing yet, thank goodness, because no one was going to train with her at St. Anne’s if she was. Then James would get all the fun and she’d be really irritable. She’d be stuck with her basement gym and just her kids and her mom willing to spar with her because she knew Jim would like to put her in one of those bubble-things if he could when she was pregnant.
After baby Kenzi was born, they were going to figure out a way she could never convince herself to get pregnant again. Or for him to be better at persuading her to stay on birth control. Maybe they’d get lucky and get wishes this Christmas and she could give her husband a magical vasectomy.
Even as she was thinking all these thoughts she knew it was the damn morning sickness, and if Jim wanted another kid she would probably cave. Hopefully the prescription Molly suggested that afternoon would start working like tonight. Or else her thoughts might turn more...magical snip-snip come Christmas.
It took her a minute because she was so wrapped up in her thoughts that her husband’s hands had moved to her shoulders and he was giving her a unasked for massage. She began to relax under his ministrations. “Sorry, it’s just...”
“This pregnancy isn’t like the one with the twins,” he said, pressing a kiss in her hair. “But I had a thought you might like.”
“Oh?” she asked.
“There’s some sort of trivia bowl that’s being set up in the pubs on Bourbon Street,” he said. “Pop culture trivia. Winning teams get a trophy and money.”
“You’re a billionaire,” she pointed out. “We don’t need the money.”
“But bragging rights,” he said, and those words had the desired effect. It would suck to not be able to drink, but she very much doubted there was anyone in this universe who knew more useless trivia about popular culture than her husband the nerd. Not that she was a slouch herself when it came to trivia, thanks to being married to Jim, but…
“Who else would be on our team?” she asked.
“Bones, since he lies when he said this era is boring, Molly to cover any Brit stuff tossed at us, and then I was thinking of asking our son too.” He set his chin on the top of her head. “And as for the money, we can always just use it to splurge on the kids for Christmas. Or give it to them for semester end bonuses since they’re all going to be in college. Or donate it to some of the underfunded programs--”
“You’re going for sainthood, aren’t you?” she asked.
“Welllll...” he said, and then he grinned. “Tell you what. Sign-ups don’t even start until September 1st. Sleep on it and let me know before then.” He pressed another kiss into her hair. “And since you seem less hostile since I started rubbing your shoulders I’ll make the massage full body.”
“Stop distracting me with your perfection and I’ll finish getting ready for the night,” she said with a shake of her head. Something about her husband being the Perfect Guy really turned her on for some reason.
“Full body massage, and you in charge for as long as you want,” he said.
“Oh, just shut up and kiss me,” she said with a smirk, looking at him in the mirror.
“Face wiped off first,” he teased. “No icky tastes in my mouth, you know.”
“Bastard,” she said, though she was grinning. This was certainly going to be an interesting night...and one she greatly looked forward to.
The Gathering At The Morgue (A “The Best Laid Plans” Story)
And another donation fic finished last night! This one is for @posterofamyth with my OTP, McCoy/Molly.
The Gathering At The Morgue - McCoy comes to pick Molly up for lunch and gets slightly more than he expected.
Read @ AO3 | Buy Me A Coffee? | Send Me A Prompt
He didn’t mind the morgue much, but it wasn’t his favorite place to be. But he’d planned on surprising Molly for lunch, now that they were officiallydating, and that meant going into the damn basement at Barts. The sooner they left for lunch, however, the better. For some reason, he was happier around the living than the dead.
He heard voices as soon as he opened the double doors and after a moment saw Molly, Sherlock, John and Greg standing around a pulled out drawer. He hung back, watching Molly explain the autopsy results to the three of them until she paused at the look on Greg’s face. After a moment Greg nodded in his direction and Molly turned. She was surprised, but pleasantly and grinned widely at him. “Leonard!”
“Hey, don’t let me interrupt,” he said, leaning against the wall and crossing his arms. “I just want to whisk her away for lunch.”
“Oh, that sounds lovely,” she said. “Just give me a few minutes?” McCoy nodded and she went back to her explanation. When she was done she stripped off her latex gloves and then came over to him, heedless of the others in the room, and kissed his cheek. He found himself grinning at the very public display of affection, knowing that this time it was meant exactly as it was given. “So where are we going?”
“Don’t you have a body to put back in the cooler first?” he asked, his body amused.
“Oh! Right,” she said with a nod.
The others came around as she took the gloves she’d tossed on the floor to the trash can and went to deal with the body. “It’s good to see her happy,” John said, giving McCoy a grin.
“Well, I’m just glad we got matters settled,” McCoy said, nodding. He gave Sherlock a wary glance. “You’re okay with things?”
“I was never romantically interested in Molly, though I knew she was interested in me,” Sherlock said with a shrug. “At least at first. It was quite obvious her intentions were turning towards you around the time you started having intercourse on a regular basis.”
“Ah,” McCoy said, having momentarily forgotten his flatmate’s bluntness. “So you knew it was a sham?”
“It was fairly obvious she was intending to make me jealous,” Sherlock said. “I had just hoped she would admit how she felt towards you because you make her happy.” He paused. “Hurt her, though, and I will make sure your body is never found.”
“Duly noted,” McCoy said. He pulled away from the wall when Molly finished putting the body away. “I’m sure the same extends to both of you?”
“Oh yeah,” Greg said with a nod. “I’ll help Sherlock toss you in a peat bog if you hurt her, damn my career. She’s been through enough.”
“Well, just so you know, I have no intention of hurting her in any way,” McCoy said. “That includes leaving if I get the chance.”
He saw their eyes widen. “I thought you going back...you know...was out of the question?” John asked.
“It is, but if the technology ever caught up, either I’d ask her to come with me and go if she agreed or I’d stay here and deal with these primitive times,” McCoy said. “And since I doubt she’d leave any of you, I’m going to be here for the far foreseeable future.”
“I’m glad to hear that because you’re great at the surgery,” John said. “And my daughter adores you.”
“I think she has a thing for grumps,” McCoy said, glancing at Sherlock.
“She simply has good taste in those she considers family,” Sherlock said, returning his gaze. “She must have gotten that good taste from her godmother.”
McCoy gave him a smile. “Or her mother.”
Sherlock returned it with a faint grin. “That is always a possibility.” Then he looked at Greg and John. “We need to be off. The information Molly gave us needs to be looked into further, which means I need to go back to the crime scene.”
“Duty calls,” Greg said. “Enjoy your lunch.”
“I plan on it,” McCoy said as the three of them moved away. Molly had been hanging back, and he turned to look at her. “I suppose you were listening in?”
“Well, it’s hard not to,” she said, moving over to him and wrapping her arms around his neck. He, in turn, settled his hands on her hips. “You wouldn’t go back home unless I went with you?”
He nodded. “I’ve been here long enough to realize you’re pretty damn important to me. I miss my friends, yeah, but if I went home I’d miss you more than I miss them now.”
“You must really love me,” she said with a smile.
“Yeah, I really do,” he said with a grin back before kissing her. He knew that as much as he would enjoy it going further, a kiss was all he was going to get right now. But damn, what a kiss it was. When they pulled apart he looked down at her. “You know, kiss me like that again and I may have to scrap my plans.”
“Is that so?” she said with a wicked smirk before leaning in again. Maybe lunch out was overrated after all...
My Favourite Love (A “Stuff Of Improbable Legends” / “tomorrow you’ll still be beautiful” Story)
So this is one of my entries for Day 7 of Molly Hooper Appreciation Week (”Free For All), featuring my OTP. Hope you enjoy!
My Favourite Love - Molly maneuvers her inebriated husband into the vacation home after his birthday party from Kirk and Rose, and they have a little chat before sleep overtakes them.
Read @ AO3 | Buy Me A Coffee? | Send Me A Prompt
She had to admit, Rose’s idea had been brilliant. She had been a little wary at first, that Leonard was going to balk at the idea of his birthday party being at a gay bar, but considering it was the one that Kirk and Rose knew so well and were practically family at, it had gone rather well. And they’d all had fun. Even Rose, and she wasn’t eating or drinking much of anything due to nausea. But eventually she could see her husband wanted to be alone with her, and she really rather wanted the same thing. James and Livvy had said they’d take the infant versions of themselves so she could whisk their father away, and she knew James and Zoe had been rather sparse with their alcohol intake that evening.
Unlike Leonard.
She was quite thankful she had all those years hauling heavy cadavers all over the place because maneuvering Leonard around was not quite as easy as she James had made it out to be. She should have just teleported them straight into the bedroom if she had been smart, but she hadn’t been thinking and had gotten them to the living room. After making it to the sofa she got her husband on it and decided tonight, at least, the sofa was where they’d spend the night.
Leonard reached over and pulled her half on top of him, half next to him, and began nuzzling her neck. It wasn’t that he wasn’t affectionate in general, at least with her, but there was something about when he was in this state where he was just...moreso. “You are not getting a shag on the sofa,” she said with a laugh.
“I can make it to the bed, beautiful lady,” he replied.
She laughed harder and turned to face him, staring down at him. There were still times she didn’t feel particularly beautiful, not after carrying surprise twins, even though she hadn’t gained the weight most mothers of twins gained. There were stretch marks now that weren’t there before, and weight that hadn’t come off, and she wondered if she would ever look like she had before, if she’d ever be to the point where she felt sexy. But in moments like this, she knew she never had to worry that he would find her sexy. “You’re drunk,” she said.
“Yes, I'm drunk,” he said with a nod, reaching over to grab her hand and bring her knuckles to his lips. “And you're beautiful. And tomorrow morning I'll be sober...but you'll still be beautiful.”
Her look of amusement softened and she pulled her hand away to frame his face and kiss him softly. She was trying not to be too eager, too needy, but this reminded her why she loved him so much. Why she couldn’t bear it if he left. They’d spent so long circling each other, denying how they felt, and now they had what was close to the perfect life and she couldn’t lose it.
After a moment she pulled away and settled on top of him so that her ear was over his heart. She felt him wrap his arms around her and she shut her eyes. “I love you, you know that?” she said.
“I know,” he said, and she could hear him sounding sleepy. Being on his back and happy and sated and comfortable was obviously allowing him to drift off towards sleep. He was rubbing her arms slightly but the air was warm and she didn’t really need it. It was comforting, though, and she could feel herself joining him in sleep. “I love you too. Have almost since the day I met you.”
She turned her head and pressed a kiss over his heart and then snuggled in closer. It had taken her longer to realize how much she loved him, how much she needed him in her life, but now...now she was going to make sure he knew as often as he wanted, as often as he needed to. “Tomorrow I’ll take care of your hangover,” she murmured.
“That’s how I know you love me,” he said, ending the sentence with a yawn and a kiss in her hair. She knew moments later he was asleep, and soon she allowed herself to join him. Tomorrow would be the start of the rest of their vacation, and she’d make sure every bit of it went as splendidly as it could.
“my country’s going through some issues so i’m here in hiding and you’re a civilian who lives in the same apartment complex as me” au Finn & Rey for this one, please and thank you!
So when you said go AU, I may have kind of gone whole hog AU and turned this into a modern setting urban fantasy AU? ::innocent look:: You weren’t specific, dear. But I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
Magic Words (1/?) - Valo Asher is one of the few remaining members of the royal family in his kingdom, Kasdan: a lowly prince so far down the pecking order he may as well not even be a prince by his nation's standards. He escaped across the sea with his friend and protector Poe Dameron in an effort to hide himself until some point when either he could safely return to Kasdan or would have to take on a completely new life outside of the only home he has ever known. Adopting the name Finn, he attempts to settle in in the cold northern kingdom of Arndt but finds it a place where he doesn't fit. Until he hears his neighbor, a girl who simply goes by Rey, say his name adopted name. And then he finds his life is uprooted again as the two of them and Poe go on an adventure to discover the true depth of the powers both he and Rey posess and, hopefully, return his kingdom to its rightful rulers.
Read Part 1 @ AO3 | Buy Me A Coffee? | Send Me A Prompt
Valo Asher always kept his head down. Usually wore a hooded sweater, tried his best to blend in with the university crowd in the town. This was a very metropolitan place for being so…
Not home.
It wasn’t until he got into his apartment that he allowed himself to take a deep breath and simply relax. There was safety here, or at least a bit of it. Running away from a bloody coup, trying to make sure at least some of his line survived, that was not anything a Prince should go through. And he wasn’t even the Crown Prince! That had been his brother, who had been raised in a different part of the palace, someone he only saw on state occasions.
Hell, he wasn’t even a full prince as far as most of the country was concerned. He wasn’t a bastard, not really, but by the complicated marriage system his country had he might as well be. A wife from every village, regardless of their race, had been meant to unify the nation. And it had, but he should have known sentiments would be against him as his father had truly loved his mother, even though she was not “royal” enough. The fact his skin from the neck down was tattooed with glowing sigils from an unknown source…
Well, the ugliness that permeated the world would permeate any kingdom eventually, he supposed. He saw it often enough with the way the “settlers” had sneered at him. There had been hope that his country could remain free, but no, the settlers had other ideas.
It all seemed far more barbaric than most people thought his country was. How little the world knew of Kasdan.
But that was all in the past. His mother had escaped, but where she was, he did not know. Whether his father had survived, he was unsure. His brother was a political prisoner. And many turned their eyes away as it was just another humanitarian crisis. He didn’t understand how people could watch other people suffer; while his country had had problems, they were all relatively well taken care of. He was not one of the better-known princes so he traveled through the small country often, spent time with those who lived there. There had been no word of revolt whispered until the settlers from the cold mountains had come.
He had been sent across the sea for his safety, to the small island kingdom where his father had had allies, with only his childhood friend and now bodyguard Poe Dameron with him. The first thing Poe had done was redirect their course from the capital to a small town in the middle of the country with no warning, saying there was no clue who could be trusted. And that was how they should live their life now: on edge.
And that was why he kept his face as veiled as he could with hooded sweaters pulled close against his skin.
It wasn’t even as though being among people of different races, different nationalities was an altogether large shock for him, but the cold had been something he was not used to. He was from warm lands, where sand and spices flowed in abundance, and everything here seemed so cold and bland. He missed his home. He missed the sun and warmth. He missed his family and he missed the little things he knew would remind him of home.
He had had to leave most of it behind, save the one thing his father had pressed into his hands before he was smuggled out of the royal compound: the book of spells, passed from king to prince for more generations than anyone could remember. It should have gone to his brother but had gone to him instead. He wondered why, but Poe did not know and there was no one else he could ask.
And so he would spend his days studying the texts the people of this town used at their university, trying not to draw attention to himself though he was striking in his way, and then in the privacy of his home he would learn the secrets he should never have learned, if things had gone the way they should, but he was trusted with by his father.
And that was his world now. It was not a world he would have willingly chosen to inhabit. It was not the world he wanted, for himself or his friend or those he held dear who had been scattered to the winds, dispersed to the four corners of the map.
But little did he know that there was, so very close, a woman who would bring warmth and light back into his life, and it would all begin with one word:
Finn.
You know what I forgot I had saved on my computer? Molly Hooper caps from the most recent series. I feel a very large post of icons coming as soon as I can find the time to make them.
::bounces:: Oooh, that will be nice. She looked so pretty in series 4 and then I will get ALL THE PRETTY on my RP account. ::grin:: Sherlock won’t mind, I’m sure. Especially when paired with a medical officer outfit.
But I also really really want to find pictures of her as a ginger for NOLA, because for some reason I think, like, after the twins she’s all “I want a change” and going ginger would probably be something she’d do. So I’d have old S1 - S3 icons for Atlantis, S4 icons for Voyages and then red-headed icons for NOLA and just have it all separate until we do the thing in December at Atlantis, and then I get to do an overhaul again.
